3-Minutes I Am Legend Opening Scene!

Warner Bros. has revealed a 3-minute opening scene from I Am Legend, hitting standard and IMAX theaters tomorrow. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the sci-fi action-adventure stars Will Smith, Alice Braga, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Willow Smith and Charlie Tahan.

CinemaSpy: How have actors responded to your material over the years, do you think?

Richard Matheson: I have met very few actors over the years that have been anything other than pleasant and gracious. I don’t know if it’s because they liked my writing or not. The only exception was Charles Bronson. I remember being on the set of the 1961 film Master of the World. I introduced myself to Mr. Bronson and told him that I was the writer of the script. He gruffly responded, “Oh don’t talk to me.” And he walked away. Later on, I think he realized he’d gone too far, and he came up to me and said, “They tell me you’re a very good writer.” And I said, “I am,” and I walked away from him.

I saw the movie.

The only thing that impressed me was Will Smith's acting...He does some of his best dramatic acting work in this movie. On par or better than Pursuit of Happyness.

The movie itself....Ehh...It was decent, but I wouldn't pay to see it if it didn't have any Batman stuff in front of it.

Hmmm...Yeah, there are a few high suspense points...Nothing too applause-worthy.


There were of course a few of those GASPS! and pop-up moments...I mean, after a while it does turn into a zombie survival movie..

I can't see myself giving this movie anything higher than a 7/10.

Like I, Robot, we've got another potentially intelligent SF story dumbed down for the Independence Day crowd. Damn you, Akiva Goldsman.

I've seen both older film versions of I Am Legend, so I'll see this one too, but I'll be sure to lower my expectations accordingly.

But unlike I, Robot the movie isn't for the faint of heart and mind ether, no rube action fan, I feel could fully appreciate this movie as it is not nearly a action flick. It's kind of cast away with action kind of, and a well paced back story to keep the lengths of just Will Smith at bay. I didn't think it was a great movie but to compare it to I, Robot is taking a shot at this movie that isn't deserved, it was a sold flick, nothing too special but certainly better than most sci-fi action movies

It was a very good film. Will Smith is brilliant in it and it is by far the best of the adaptations.

The movie is entertaining, but the title made no sense in this "adaption". THe other two movies changed the name and I guess it wouldn't have hurt this movie because "I am legend" is not really a big audience magnet.

This movie was a good watch, but it wasn't as great as i expected it to be. But it really made you feel for him and his heart to move foward and 'fix this'.

Saw this tonight,and thought it was a decent movie overall. I thought Will Smith/Abby did a great job,and had a decent online chemistry for a human/dog..
The theme of virus,vampire'ish type monsters was a little underplayed. I thought there should of been more grab-ur-ass and run scenes. It was kindof like 28days later,but a lighter version.
To reference one poster asking about wow/applause moments,sorry to say there was none at all,which is a shame. If it had a couple it would of made the movie that much better..
I'm inclined to think this is a movie that will be better once on DVD,which isn't to say it should of been a direct to dvd release,but some movies are better at home...

I was disappointed that they pretty much changed the entire meaning of the words "I am legend," but that didn't detract from my enjoyment from the movie at all. I loved it.

In short, not really. [blackout]It's faithful in that Neville dies, but that's about where it ends. It takes a very different turn from where the book goes.[/blackout]

It works great for the movie that they made, but it's not exactly faithful to the source.

I just saw the movie . What do I think about it? Well First they showed the preview of batman tdk. I really liked the performance of ledger so far I really liked the trailler .I just can't wait for tdk for summer 2008. I was tHinking about it for exactly 1h40 minutes. Does that tell you hoW I liked i am legend?
