this may have been answered already but what happened to this scene?

iamlegend15.jpg

It wasn't in the movie.

oh yeah...that was in the trailer. I have a feeling they shot two endings...cause that looks like a scene from the ending...

can someone tell me why the hell they had to use 3rd rate computer animation on the creatures when people in makeup would have looked so much better.
The ****ty CG really ruined the movie for me.

Not only would they look cooler and better...but wouldn't it have cost cheaper to do it in make up?

Anyway....for those wondering where all the money went into making the movie....Did you NOT notice they closed off Times Square and other areas of NYC to make this. That alone must have cost millions to shut down a area like that.

A planet where calling something that bites necks, drinks blood and has adverse reactions to UV light a vampire is a suitable description. What planet are you from?

i maintain they are NOT vampires in this movie :csad:

What the hell was up with the Batman/ Superman poster. I know there is not a movie coming out. Was it for a cartoon? Or was it an earlier poster from when the movie was supposedly happening?

Maybe The WB will pull their head out of their "u know what" and release that film in 2012.

what was the book ending?
She was a trap in the book. She was a vampire. The vampire creatures evolve to the point where they have created a society. they wipe out the unintelligent savage vampires and capture Robert Neville. They plan to execute him, because they see him as a monster. He is the only one of his kind, and he is killing them off. He is the monster that the Vampires are afraid of, the thing under the bed, and the monster in the closet. He is Legend.
The movie kind of flushed all of that.

Was I the only one channeling Alfred Pennyworth when...

Neville was strung up...I was thinking to myself "Whats the good of all those pull-ups if you cant lift your bloody body [to cut the rope]?"

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. I guess all the blood had rushed to his head and he couldn't get his strength?

That is a scene from the ending, and ya, it does look like this is maybe an alternative ending, maybe the book ending

The film was solid. Will Smith gave one of his best performances, and it was one of the best performances of the year. The film made it so I was right there with Neville, and it had me, emotionally. I only had two complaints. The film needed to be over 2 hours, so things could've been fleshed out and more could have been added. If it was longer than 2 hours, the film would have been great. The other complaint was the crappy CGI for the Dark Seekers, though I sorta understand why they were a bit crappy. The CGI used to make NYC look empty and tarnished was incredible (Times Square was not abandoned for this film; that will never happen). I also wished the Dark Seekers were more like creepy/horrific monsters, rather than something out of a video game. The ending didn't bother me because this was an ADAPTATION of a book.

Rating:

3/4 stars

Yeah, Will almost broke his head on that pavement. Hanging upside down sure wasn't helping him.

:o

even for an adaptation I thought it was weak.
****ty ****ty CGI, a cookie cutter ending, hell a cookie cutter plot.
It could have been something special, something that stood out from the genre. instead we get another reason to hate hollywood.

Will [blackout]could have had a better death[/blackout] than he did, but it didn't bother me that much. The CGI was amazing. It was just that the budget didn't really go to the Dark Seekers. It could have been better, but we still got a cleared out NYC.

Warhammer try to use spolier tags next time incase someone who hasnet seen the movie comes in and sees it ok? Its both considerate and only takes 2 seconds of your time :)

saw the movie on friday. didn't read the book so i have nothing to compare it too. anyway, like others have stated i HATED the cgi. the creatures should have been real people with makeup fx. i seriously cannot understand why the director/studio, etc let that garbage cgi pass for this movie. i liked all the character parts with smith. i felt had the movie been 20 minutes longer, there could have been a much better story. also i didn't like the woman and the kid towards the end. they served no purpose other than to be used as cheap plot device. 7/10

Wowza, I can't believe that I just revealed a big spoiler like that. Sorry about that.

I never read the book as well, so I don't have anything to really compare it too as well.
I gave it a 7/10,as I thought Wills performance was top notch for sure. the movie did lack that punch it needed to propell itself to a top notch movie.. Thought it needed 1 or 2 more scenes involving the Dark Seekers in some type of death defying type situations..
The CGI was a little bit weak,it could of been a tad better. They were too obvious that they were cgi, they needed more of a grittier look to them. Other than that, story was decent, acting was great, shame this is a sci/fi movie or will might have some nominations ;)

I read the book and loved it. I definitly think they should have been more faithful to it. The one thing I was looking foward to was seeing Ben Cortman saying "Neville" outside his house. Also I really wish they had had the part where he burned down the houses next to him. That was really smart of Neville. I wish they had gone more detail about the virus for instance in the book it explains the crosses thing which was awesome and the garlic and all that stuff. Def. should have included that stuff.

I saw the film during an employee preview night on Thursday. I thought the film was very decent at best. My main gripes with it involve the usage of the creatures, questionable storytelling, and the deviation of the book itself made me question why even adapt the story in the first place?

Don't get me wrong, it started off great with the empty shots of NY, and usage of the camera showing how the virus wiped literally everything and everyone off the face of the earth. I really did like how they did the first encounter with the Infected in the abandoned building. It was creepy, realistic, silent, and the atmosphere really had you on the edge of your seat because you had no idea what was going to happen.

The CGI for the infected was absolutely horrible. They could've been made to look more realistic and scary looking, you know? If it were up to me I think I would've had the VAMPIRES look like the 30 Days of Night ones.

Akiva writing the story really dumbed down the concept and deviated too much from the source material.
I also would've started the film with Robert killing the sleeping vampires in front of his house, making repairs to the windows and doors, and so forth.

The fact that there's no Ben Cortman in the story made it suffer and the fact that his wife/kid didn't die from the plague made it suffer even more as well.

Overall it was a great performance by Will with some great atmosphere and tense moments. Overall though I give it a 5/10 as it deviated too much for my liking and didn't even attempt to create a good intelligent story.

I've noticed everyone who dislikes the film, dislikes it because it ventures off from the book.

That's odd, seeing how we knew for a while now that the film was going to be different.

I liked the filmed for its differences. It's a different spin on a classic story. If you go in expecting Matheson's story, you're only going come out angry and disappointed.

Just some random babbling...

You're right though. This film more than stands up on its own merits.

Oh no, don't get me wrong now the way it started was a very cool unique adaptation of Matheson's book because it increased the atmosphere and made the danger even more unexpected, especially when
Robert first enters the abandoned building to look for Sam.

I read the book before seeing the film and I just feel it strayed too far from what the concept was originally about.
