DK:

Would they have to move quickly for a Superman movie in 2010?

They don't seem to be doing anything from my perspective.

There's also no point in allowing your feelings to be hurt anytime someone suggests closing the forum.

On the other hand, hanging out here, asking for the forum to be shut down is essentially spamming. That should be reason enought, right? Besides, I'm no the one who's all "overprotective" and stuff...

If they are going to try and get a sequel (or reboot) out by 2010....then there is still time. I think the time benefits a sequel more than a reboot though for 2010 at least. If the rumors are true that a script is being written for a sequel, then it should be ready and approved within the next 2 or 3 months. Storyboards and pre production will take another 2-3 months. So you figure WB's and Singer can still begin principal shooting around March or April. That gives plenty of time for post and any potential re shoots for a July 4th weekend release in 2010. Same applies to a GL film if they want to set that up for release say in March or May of 2010.

GL needs to get the green light sooner than MOS does though and from what the statement that was just released, we may get announcements in a month.

Then again....this is WB's so that can mean three months instead of one. Ugh....

everything i looked into and read about reguarding another superman film is wb looking at pitchs for reboot and as for singer everything i read is he has no green lit, no script, no writers signed on. So i doubt singer's going to get a supes sequel going any time soon if wb even wants to continue with him.

When it comes to pitches for reboots is that they (WB's) WERE (past tense) looking and at one point considering pitches for reboots. If they passed on reboot pitches from like guys Grant Morrison and Mark Waid, then I find it hard to believe WB's would accept a guy named Steves reboot idea. Ya never know though....

I didn't say it wasn't spamming. I said, don't get your feelings hurt over it. Which is clearly what's happening to someone when they feel the need to type curses at another person. There's a button for spamming, it says "report post" on it. Some people don't seem to realize when they've already won.

Edit: The button is actually a red triangle. It doesn't say "report post" until you roll over it.

I do not believe asking these forums be folded into DC Films is spam. Sorry.

And I still believe they should. They should've been 7 months ago when the halt first started. I think one of the mods even agreed and said something to the effect of not opening them up until the film is in front of the cameras.

Harry Potter 6 in July takes care of WB's 2009 tentpole problem... now what do they do for 2010??? But I hear they moved Potter for the sake of making it their major summer release... so no way in hell are they letting 2010 go without having a major release in there somewhere.

They have GL, Supermax and possibly Shazam.

What other non-comic franchises or movies do they have?

I heard they have plenty of New Lines movies, too. That should help them once they get released, right?

Isn't there another Potter movie for 2010?

Yep Part one of film 7 gets released in November, Part two in May, conceivably if the cupboard is bare for WB they could move the release dates of these films, but forward instead of back as they're doing for film 6, Part one in June/July, Part two in Nov/Dec. There are many angry Potter fans over the film 6 release date change, it wouldn't surprise me if they brought forward the release dates of the final two films of sort of compensation to the fan base.

Harry Potter "6" and T4 are WB's big guns for 2009. Don't be suprised if they move Watchmen either.

Some possibitlies for WB for 2010 include:

Robotech
2012

and possibly GA/GL if they could get off the ground and camera rolling early/mid 09.

I really liked the concept of the GA film but I'm not sure it would do that great. I mean fans think its a great concept but I'm not so sure the General audience will. Just for the fact that he isn't in his costume for a good portion of the film will have some confused. I guess it would come down to how they market the film. I think there is no doubt WB will have a comic book property in 2010, its just a matter of which one. After speed racer I think a comic book property treated with respect will at least gain it budget back.

Exactly. I wasn't including them because they were included by a poster above, but I think Green Lantern has a much better shot then Green Arrow. Although I would like to see both.

Yea i do agree too green lantern seems to be picking up more steam right now, but man it would be so cool if they could be both happening for 2010. It could be the summer of "Green".

Thanks jmc.

GA: Supermax would probably have a moderate budget. Nothing over $100 million.

I think if they moved Potter 6, they might move Potter 7 & 8. It happens.

I think Shazam would be an excellent film to be released around the November or December holiday of 2009.
