I like Hall, but I'm not really a fan of the idea of him playing DD. My top picks:

Ryan Phillippe
Warren Kole
Philip Winchester

Why? Phillippe has proven himself to be a very good actor who plays dark really well (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Way of the Gun).

I like this list a lot. Hall gets brought up so much for Daredevil that I just wanted to exclude him for a little bit. I'd be happy with your choices.

Damian Lewis would be awesome, he's a brilliant actor. I would also love to see Ryan Kwanten in the part.

What about Mark-Paul Gosselaar?

He plays a pretty good lawyer on "Franklin & Bash". Not sure if I could see him as Matt but it would interesting.

wouldn't be against it, but it seems like the epitome of typecasting. morso than Hall. And i don't remember Daredevil being able to stop time

Great idea!

My brother turned me on to the idea of the two lead actors from "Franklin and Bash" being conscripted into the Marvel universe as Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson. Of course, this is mostly because they play lawyers and have a good chemistry, but it's a fun idea nonetheless.

Give Zack from Saved By The Bell some red hair, and put a few pounds on the other guy (Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer, respectively), and there you go!

Now that DeKnight is attached to be the new showrunner, I hope he lobbies to get Liam as Murdock:

It would be too obvious.

How about some of the other guys from Spartacus.

Manu Benett is aweome. But he's already on a rival DC show.

Jai Courtney? He's a big fella now, appearing in movies.

Todd Lasance? Now he would be totally awesome.

Too obvious, sure. But it's such a good choice, haha. Any Sparatcus alum that's not attached to any other TV show or isn't appearing movies would be good for the role honestly; Todd Lasance, Dustin Clare, Dan Feuerriegel, etc., etc.

Thanks! I agree to about Hall. Great actor, but a bit past his prime and I don't think he'd be as good of a fit for DD as a lot of people think. I personally would rather see Hall in a villainous role.

Also, I like the Liam McIntyre and Mark Paul Gossalaar suggestions, though I think Mark does better when he's allowed to be a bit more comedic. I think he'd be a better fit for a character like the Flash. Liam seems perfect though... and he threw his name into the ring when they were casting Batman, so he'd probably be interested.

Liam McIntyre might be a good fit. He certainly has the look, and from what I hear, he's a decent actor. Has anybody heard his American accent?

I think Liam's accent on Spartacus is his American accent, or close enough to hear what it'd be like. If we did get Liam for Murdock how about getting Katrina Law for Elektra

I stopped watching Spartacus after Andy died (just too damn sad), so I never saw Liam in the role. I heard he had a pretty rough start but got better as the series went along, so I have no idea if he could pull it off on the acting front. He definitely has a good look for it though, I'll give him that.

I felt the same way about losing Andy, but I would highly recommend you give the rest of the series a try as not only is Liam awesome in it, the show in general is one the best to ever hit the screen.

I'll be honest, even while I was thoroughly enjoying that 1st season, I always saw the show more as well-done guilty-pleasure enjoyment than genuine "best on TV" material (shows like True Detective, Breaking Bad and Hannibal fit better in that category to me). BUT I have been getting a craving for some good pulpy action TV as of late since I'm this close to dropping Arrow, so I think I'll probably take your recommendation and finish Spartacus this summer while a lot of my go-to shows are off the air.

Random thought I've never considered before. Should Merdock have a New York accent?

Gonna be honest, I've seen fleeting commercials of Franklin & Bash every now and then, and didn't really remember that it was a lawyer show. But I thought he looked the part, and I know he can act. You're right, that would be the definition of type-casting, haha. Was just throwing another name into the ring!

Latino Review reckon Charlie Cox is up for the role
