Comics Official NEW MUTANTS Discussion Thread

Preview pages are being shoved into the backs of other Marvel books. It's the same preview pages we saw before, only now Karma has black hair. They've fixed the colors.

Judging by that early poster art that made Karma look like Rahne and how the preview pages turned out the first time, I imagine we'll be seeing more coloring errors in the future.

Actually her hair is now brown and she still doesnt quite look like Karma. I guess its better than red

Wow so they colored Karma's hair 3 times bc this is the image I saw in one of the books

Glad they fixxed Karma but they need to fix Sunspot. The guy is NOT a white dude.

Wow, those preview pages were awesome. I hope Magik doesn't remain a smartass though, I really want to like her. Rockslide and Anole pissed off is such a treat, I missed them:(

It says that Christina Strain is doing the colors, which is odd since everything else I've ever seen her do has been AMAZING. Especially her run with Vaughn and Alphona on Runaways. I don't know why she would make major mistakes like that.

Sunspot doesn't look white to me. Still pretty Brazilian IMO.

As for Karma's hair, I think my lack of caring for the character is making me ignore her on panel :(

I love the new mutants so i kinda get all fanboyish when some one messes up some thing thats so simple as coloring to them

Sunspot is a Black Brazilian. He should be about as dark as Pele. During Young X-Men, he was the same skin tone as Dani Moonstar, which was only slightly lighter than Cipher.

I guess I've seen him drawn as light as a Puerto Rican so many times, I don't even notice. The darkest I've seen him was back in X-Treme X-Men.

Heres another pic of Roberto from back in the day. He must have what Michael Jackon's got

By the way, I love Anole's "Oh, hell no" reaction.

geez Manic, thanks for the dang signature quote...because Marvel is about to have me call Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Sunspot has NEVER been white before. ever. always been dark with a curly short fro...I was sitting here wondering who the guy with Cannonball was.

...i hope they keep the New/Young X-Men kids around for this book
..also, Sam and them wouldn't be 'upperclassmen' they'd be Alumni. and too old to be bullying the kids...and i also dont like how they discount them still...as if they were never in thier place.

Generation X would be 'upperclassmen'

Generation X are alumni, too. Last I heard, Jubilee finally reached adulthood in New Warriors. And Cafe Monet is about 20, these days.

By the way, I love Anole's "Oh, hell no" reaction.

Me too. It's good to see that they're not just going to bring Illyana nicely back into the fold without acknowledging everything that happened in New X-Men and "X-Infernus".

I kind of want see the Sam and Berto kick Rockslide and Anole ass for give them sass. They gotta be about 25 by now they shouldn't be taking lip from these punks.

Sam is 21, according to a recent issue of Uncanny X-Men. I think he's got maybe a year on Bobby. I seem to remember Xi'an and Sam being older than the other New Mutants.

Anyway, I'm on Anole and Rockslide's side. I don't know who the hell this Illyana b[word] thinks she is, but you don't roll up on people and joke about eating their classmates' soul. She dragged them to hell and used them to take over the joint. I don't care if she's one of the old school New Mutants. Hell, I'm happy to have her back. She just needs to keep her distance from the New/Young X-Men. Bobby's rich. I'm sure he can afford to get her an apartment in the city where she won't have to interact with the kids she nearly killed less than a year ago (in comic time).
