I really wish Nintendo would allow Twitch on the 3DS and the WiiU. Their stance is "we're working with Twitch but we don't view streaming as fun.."

Hopefully they change their tune.

Yeah, Nintendo's policy on that sorta stuff is surprisingly draconian what with them pulling down YouTube videos and such. Admittedly, I don't see the appeal in watching others game but I'm not sure why Nintendo is so against it either. It's not like it hurts them.

Can't help but agree with Nintendo. Streaming doesn't seem fun to watch. Never got a kick out of watching someone else game. Why not just play the game yourself.

I like to watch it, especially if its a game I'm interested in, and I wanna see people play it, just to get a feel for it. Sometimes, it's better than reading a review.

But then there's really entertaining streams, like when people do speedruns or world records. I sat and watched a guy do a world record on MK8, and it took him about 3-4 hours. I watched the last hour while I was on the computer, but it was cool to see him go for it. I've also watched people speedrun MM or Mario 3, etc. I dunno, I like it.

I have friends who watch Twitch a lot, but it's not my thing. I just kind of get bored watching other people play games. But I will agree, I don't see any point to actively blocking it or anything since it's popular. Not sure if that's actually the case, though. Seems a lot of apps are missing for the Nintendo platforms that others have like HBO Go, Showtime, Comedy Central, WWF Network, etc. I don't know if it's Nintendo not getting those or the companies behind them pass on their platforms.

I like streams because they tend to show off more of a game than previews and reviews. I get that it's not everyone's thing but to not take part in it (on Nintendos side) is just backwards.

Do we actually know if they actively are stopping Twitch from coming to their platforms, though? That seems pretty weird to me, I would think they wouldn't block any apps, I just assumed Twitch passed on their platforms.

From everything I've read Nintendo said no to streaming. They're working with Teitch in other ways and have a close relationship with them. They do their Treehouse stuff. I honestly don't think Twitch would say no to any platform. Reggie himself said Nintendo doesn't do things they feel aren't fun.. And streaming, to them, isn't fun.

I didn't mean that so much as them saying no to the platform, just not thinking it was worth paying the licensing fee or something. As I said, a lot of apps have passed on Nintendo platforms, just kind of thought Twitch was one among them. If Nintendo really is just refusing to add it, that is pretty strange. I wonder if you can watch Twitch in the Wii U and/or 3DS browser?

Moon Chronicles DLC episodes touch down on 3DS February 5

After releasing its first episode last May, Renegade Kid's Moon Chronicles is finally ready to receive episodes two, three and four. Creator Jools Watsham revealed on Twitter that Nintendo has approved the episodes and "it's looking like" all three will hit the 3DS eShop on February 5. A "season pass" will be available for $9 to purchase every episode or, according to Nintendo's Moon Chronicles page, individual episodes can be had for $4.50 apiece. The first episode, which also includes special VR missions, remains $8.99.

For those who missed its debut last year, Moon Chronicles is a remake of Renegade Kid's DS first-person shooter, Moon, with improved visuals and 3D support. Also, as Watsham points out, the DLC arrives a week before the launch of the New 3DS, which should give players a reason to use that fancy C-stick.

A Link Between Worlds is on sale for $30, Kid Icarus: Uprising for $25, this week on the 3DS eShop.

I wish Nintendo didn't region lock this...I'd be all over the Famcom/SNES style New 3DS Regular size edition. Amazon has it for 169.99...

Region locking is the biggest pain in the ass, for sure.

I just don't understand it. Either way Nintendo is getting my money, right? So WTH?

That's how I see it. Does Nintendo sell any games or hardware straight from their website? Seems to me that'd be the best way for them to circumvent some of the supply problems they have. Why deal with Gamestop withholding products for their own benefit when I could just buy a product straight from Nintendo.

Distribution costs. They would need to have warehouses throughout the United States. It's cheaper to go through a third party like Best Buy or Amazon.

Region locking is just dumb though, especially for a handheld.

More Moon Chronicles Episodes Should Arrive On The 3DS eShop On February 5th. January 29, 2015 . 10:31am

Renegade Kid’s 3DS first-person shooter Moon Chronicles should have episodes 2, 3, and 4 delivered on February 5th.

Jools Watsham of Renegade Kid has revealed that the long-awaited second, third, and fourth episodes of Nintendo 3DS first-person shooter Moon Chronicles should be out on February 5th.

The first episode of the game was released back in May of 2014 so these following episodes have been a while coming. It was on Twitter that Watsham said that he had received an email from Nintendo of America, saying that Moon Chronicles has been approved, and “It’s looking like a release date of 2/5 for all 3 episodes.”

Watsham also said that to be able to buy the new episodes you’ll have to update the first episode. Regarding the purchasing of these episodes, according to the Nintendo.com page you can buy a Season Pass for $9 to get all three of them. Or you can pay $4.50 for each of them. The original episode still costs $8.99.

The description of each episode on that game page also suggests that Episode 4 will be the last we’ll see of Moon Chronicles, it being described as the “thrilling conclusion of Major Kane’s lunar investigation.”

Have any of you guys bought Gunman Clive 2? I saw that it was $1 more than the first one(still a cheap game:$3), so I was wondering if anybody knows if it's a longer game. The first one was extremely fun, but it's very short. Just asking...

I read someplace Gunman Clive 2 is a bit bigger as a game. I'll be picking it up come payday next week. The first one was a pretty good little game.
