A new update for the New 3DS systems. You can now purchase SNES games on the eShop. Some will be up today, and more will roll out.

I can play Donkey Kong Country on my 3DS. That is quite literally all I have ever wanted out of the virtual console. I want to play DKC anywhere, anytime.

I hope Mega Man X shows up. I can't wait for SMW, Super Metroid and Link to the Past.

The new Kirby game looks cool. Kinda like a mix of Mega Man and Kirby.

Damn, that was a short Direct, and about 95% of it was 3DS related. :hehe:

Pretty decent Direct. Happy with all the new announcements. I'm all over that new Kirby. Loved the last 3DS one.

I'm gonna get SMW tonight. Now I can have it on my 3DS. Its probably my favorite 2D Mario.

The first 3 SNES titles are up now: SMW, F-Zero and Pilotwings

I just DL'd SMW. :awesome:

SMW looks really, really good on my 3DS. Lord I can't wait for DKC. Mega Man X would be great to have too. I've never played Earthbound, and always thought that playing on the 3DS would be best for it.

Yeah, it does look nice. Better than the way the NES games look.

Absolutely. The perfect pixel mode, or whatever it's called, really makes it shine.

Dammit I missed the Direct. Last week I thought Pokemon was a day earlier and now this one I thought was tomorrow.

Just bought SMW though.

I'm in for $20 Monster Hunter 4U.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force Supports Circle Pad Pro And Gyro Sensor Controls. March 7, 2016 . 7:00am

We recently got to check out the latest on Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and the Japanese Nintendo Direct footage from last week shared additional information on the game’s controls.

We recently got to check out the latest on Metroid Prime: Federation Force, and the Japanese Nintendo Direct footage from last week shared additional information on the game’s controls. [Cheers, @British_Otaku.]

[YT]iNyWixkbXIE[/YT]

The part focusing on the game’s controls starts at the 32:50 mark of the video, where it shows how we the game supports the Gyro Sensor control scheme, which is recommended for players that aren’t the best at aiming their shots in shooters.

They also mention that those using the New Nintendo 3DS can use the C-Stick for camera movements, and it also works the same way with the Circle Pad Pro’s slide pad.

In the next part of the video, it shows how there’s much more involved in the missions aside from taking out foes. For example, you’ll explore ancient ruins, defend important facilities, or occasionally ditch your suit in order to infiltrate the enemy base.

You can challenge these missions on your own for solo play, but the fun is in its multiplayer through wireless or internet connectivity. If a mission is too difficult on solo, Nintendo recommends grouping up with others to take it on.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is releasing in late-spring 2016 for Nintendo 3DS. You can take a look at the latest trailer from the Nintendo Direct in our earlier report.

Ace Attorney 6 details story beginning, Potdino and Mitamaru

Published 1 hour ago. 9 comments.

A chief priest and an adorable puppy.

Capcom has released new Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 6 information and screenshots introducing the first part of the game’s story, and new characters Potdino Niwackus and Mitamaru.

Get the information below.
What happens when Phoenix Wright first visits the Kurain Kingdom?

AA6_03-09-16_001.jpg

To meet up with the Maya Fey, who is in training, Phoenix Wright visits the Kurain Kingdom. While waiting for her to finish her training, Phoenix goes sightseeing in the streets of Kurain with tour guide Bokuto Tsuani.

But during that time, the Kurain Kingdom’s prized treasure, the “Jewel of the Founder,” is stolen and its guard is murdered. With the testimony of chief priest Potdino, who is said to have witnessed the incident, Bokuto is arrested on charges of theft and murder by means of the “”Oracle of the Spirit,” who projects what the victim saw just before his death.

What the heck is the “Crime of Defense?”

AA6_03-09-16_002.jpg

The courtroom of the Kurain Kingdom is a spiritual medium trial absent of lawyers. There is no room for the accused to explain their case—they’ll be “guilty.” Phoenix Wright, who believes in Bokuto’s innocence, naturally volunteers to defend Bokuto to prevent that from happening.

However, as soon as Phoenix distinguishes himself as a lawyer, his attitude completely changes. He despises Phoenix and will not speak the truth.

Moreover, if he continues his defense, he’ll be accused of a the “Crime of Defense.” What the heck does that even mean?

Potdino Niwackus: Temple Chief Priest and Musician

AA6_03-09-16_003.jpg

A devout follower of the Kurain faith and chief priest of the Jiin Temple. He calls his “damaran,” an instrument of the Kurain people, his partner, and performs the musical accompaniment to Leifa’s Dedication Dances.

AA6_03-09-16_004.jpg

He fascinates the audience listening to the trial and even the presiding judge as he sings the music of his people while testifying. He says he saw the scene where Bokuto killed the victim, but…

Mitamaru: Bokuto’s Faithful Pup

AA6_03-09-16_005.jpg

A puppy raised by Bokuto. While normally completely inside Bokuto’s bag, when Bokuto is in a pinch, it gallantly leaps out and barks at the Bokuto’s opponent. Not only is he adorable, he is also quite faithful. He is a prideful Tibetan Mastiff. Perhaps he’ll play a surprisingly big role?

Nintendo Announces A Spring 2016 National StreetPass Weekend. March 22, 2016 . 3:10pm

This week is a National StreetPass Weekend in North America, which should help Nintendo 3DS owners complete that Final Fantasy Explorers Puzzle Swap puzzle.

Last week, Nintendo added a new, 40 piece Puzzle Swap puzzle, based on Final Fantasy Explorers to the Mii Plaza. This weekend, Nintendo 3DS owners will have a chance to more quickly complete it. A North American National StreetPass Weekend Spring edition will be running from March 25-27, 2016.

During National StreetPass Weekends, people who bring their Nintendo 3DS to a Nintendo Zone location have a chance of getting six StreetPass tags from across North America. Normally, you only get the six most recent StreetPasses from local Nintendo 3DS owners who had visited the establishment.

Nintendo also reminded people of recent Nintendo 3DS releases with StreetPass compatibility. People who have StreetPass enabled with their copies of the Bravely Second: End Layer demo, Final Fantasy Explorers, Fire Emblem Fates, Hyrule Warriors Legends, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and Yo-Kai Watch will be able to exchange tags with other players.

EarthBound Is Now On The North American New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. March 24, 2016 . 11:30am

People can take Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo everywhere with them, now that EarthBound has been added to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console.

EarthBound
has joined the Nintendo 3DS Super Nintendo Virtual Console library in North America today. This comes three years after the game’s Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console debut, and about a year after EarthBound Beginnings’ showed up on the Nintendo Wii U.

In EarthBound, players follow Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo as they go around the world, facing the forces of Giygas. Nintendo even prepared a Travel Guide for people to cite, in case of emergencies. The Nintendo website is saying it costs $7.99 on the New Nintendo 3DS, same as the other Super Nintendo Virtual Console Games, but the actual eShop is listing it as $9.99, which is the price of the Nintendo Wii U version. There’s no cross-buy promotion in effect, so someone who already owns it would need to purchase it again to get the portable version.

Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Kart also join the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console lineup today. They’re $7.99 each on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Super Nintendo Virtual Console games are only playable on New Nintendo 3DS systems.
