One thing they both have in common.....damn prettyboys. :o

So, to sum up this thread:

* "Gorgeously crafted epic"--David Ansen, Newsweek.
* "Superman returns with a bang"--Peter Travers, Rolling Stone.
* "A sleek marvel of fun"---Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly.
* "An action adventure that's as thrilling for what it means as for what it shows"--Richard Corliss, Time.
* "Will pull down stratospheric B.O. around the globe"--Todd McCarthy, Variety.

As with most movies from this director, I've got chills and goosebumps several times just from the trailer... Looks interesting indeed.
agreed. Although I didn't like The Village this one looks to interesting to pass on

For those who've seen it already, is it true that we dont even get to see Clark in the basement, surrounded by all the old newspapers, reading the article titled "Does the world need a savior?"... We ****ing need to see this, no matter how short the scene may be!!! It's importened that we see supes catching up on what's been going on in his absence!!!

We dont even see young Clark finding the baby pod in the storm cellar!! I'm sorry, but this right on sucks!!! I mean, how much can they cut from the teaser trailer already!

Why does it suck?

He doesn't stand in a room surounded but there's a great scene where he sees a plaque that says Lois Lane won the Pullitzer and he smiles, obviously happy for her. But then he sees the title of the article she wins the Pulitzer for: 'Why the world doesn't need a Superman" and his expression changes instantly, and you can see he's hurt and confused.:( That's a much better scene then the one in the teaser.

This is not an origin story. He only has one flashback of him running through the cornfield.

^ yeah but the pic released 5 months ago, of Clark reading in the newspapers in the barn made a HUGE impression on many many fans.. Like that was bound to be a great scene.. seeing him catching up on stuff from the last 5 years, learning what's been going on in his absence, and not just from Lois's point of view. That pic indicated a strong cool insightful sequence, and now it's cut!!! It was so cool, that they even talked about that pic in the bluetights podcast!

shut up, naite, i think someone whose seen the films would know which ones works better.

plus, all da mo reason to buy da dvd

I know we left this subject, but I have to bring it up because TE mentioned about his friend and how he trust his instincts.

:) :) :) Well, a good friend of mine who used to work for ET and just moved to NY said she loved the movie. I asked her about the romantic parts, and the stuff that she knew I WOULD be worried about and she said it "looks like the Eight Ball is definitely going to go that way". That's a quote from her email.

That so means the world to me? **** the other reviews....it's only going to be the ones that you trust that mean the most and "she" is someone I trust.

Just had to add that.

Who cares? I like Ebert, but unless he is the deciding factor for rather or not you think think the movie is good...well...he just doesn't matter.

I probably won't like the sadness and lingering from this film...I think me and Ebert may agree on that point, if that is a point he makes. However, I don't care if he likes the movie or not.

some of the SHH members are confusing this thread for the other one and posting their reviews here.

can we ask a Mod to edit the title of this thread to make its purpose clearer? like make it "Published Reviews Thread" or something like that.

The Official review thread...when people can't even agree people on a review or who or what is official?

How bout we just review the movie...

Never mind...I forget about the board police here to make things safe :)

^^ because even i get confused, and i'm here, what, nearly everyday the whole day? :D

how many times have i clicked on this thread with the intention of reading the SHH member reviews and questions? one way too many times :(

Maybe a thread for OFFICIAL FAN REVIEWS....I still don't see the difference because a review is a review.

Is it wrong of me to want to punch anyone who doesn't like this movie in the back of the neck? ;)

Asteroid... how was the overall feel of the cinematography... was it to dark or was the action clearly visible.

Can you calm down?
I'm calm...but I'm calm saying that it sucks! This wont ruin the movie, of course it wont... but it still sucks, that they've cut out all of that good stuff from the farm.

they probably did it for pacing Naite.

i dont like it either (you're looking at a die hard LOTR EE fan here), but sometimes it needs to be done. remember, not everyone who will see this film is a Superman nut like us.

I hadn't noticed it while watching the movie, but thinking back... the quality of the image was really good. Nice crisp and clear colors. And I don't know why people are complaining about the movie being "dark" in terms of lighting.
Shots taken during the daytime were very bright and clear, scenes taking place during nighttime were naturally more dark but overall I think the cinematography was excellent.

No. It would be wrong to hit them in the groin, but the back of the neck... should be safe. :D
