No, I just think it is a sad testiment that some fans feel that the villian needs to die in these flicks, usually falling Gruber style to their death.

But the poster didn't even mention the mortality of Luthor.

No, my issue was how she let her make-up distract her performance, and how she delivered her lines. Goyer had some influence, but its how she worked the role that made it bad. Hey, she wasn't all that great in Scream 3 either.

The director had some influence? He's the director. Acting chops alone will take you a long way, but the director makes or break the performance. He calls the shots. Says whether its good enough or not. Chooses which shot is best. It's his call, not the actors as to how the line is delivered.

And she still was the one acting through plastic teeth and SPFX contacts. If she couldn't work around it, she should have said something. Goyer made alot of missteps in Blade 3, I'll admit that in a heartbeat, unfortunatly Poseys performance falls alot on her inability to work with make-up limitations. Ron Perlman she is not.

Well, for me the LAST THING that would work for Superman is a restart. To me Donner did a stellar job with the origin, and I don´t think there´s anything post-crisis that would justify ignoring or replacing his version. And Lex isn´t just a mad scientist, that I know the tycoon Lex thing is there, too.

It´s your opinion, and i respect that, but...
Everytime i talk about Donner´s Superman, i end up saying the same thing, so, for the last time (yeah, right), Donner did a stellar job, i agree on that, but he did a stellar job for the time.
Today, it is totally and undeniably outdated.

Jonathan Kent is still alive, Kal-El didn´t picked up the truck moments after he arrived, much less arrive at the age of 5 (or something), he didn´t threw a green crystal into Antartida that created a crystal like Fortress of Solitude, he didn´t learned his Kryptonian heritage from a vitual reality version of Jor-El................do i really need to go on?

Don´t take it personaly Ultimatefan, you´re one of the good guys around here (and i don´t mean the Superman forums, but all SHH! boards), but i can not compete when someone says that Superman doesn´t need a restart, because we had Donner´s version.
As you can see above, not only Donner´s Superman is outdated, it´s (not by his fault or the movie, but rather the time it was made) stupid.
Donner´s Superman (i refuse to call it The Movie, because any movie with The Movie subtitle in it, or, The Adventure of...,IMO, is just pathetic) is an amazing movie, the best pre-crisis movie ever made...but the key word is PRE-CRISIS

Jakomus, calm down. I wasn't trying to start anything with her. On the other hand, it looks like you're doing EXACTLY what you're accusing me of by blowing my statement completely out of proportion. .

She said the critics overrated X2, and I wanted to draw a comparison to MY OPINION that I think the people overrate Spider-Man movies, which I stand by. They're good movies, but I find they have pretty poor rewatch factor, especially the 2nd one.

I'm with Theo on this--I don't know if I'll like the movie, but chances are I'm not gonna come from the same place this dude came from when I sit down, because I'm not at ALL going to miss Otis and Tesmacher.

I also tossed Wells' review because Jeffrey Wells is utterly bats**t insane.
