Yea Bucky is a brilliant character now. Brubaker did some great work with him. IMO he is a better character now then when he was originally around.

and you think Hollywood can do justice to the story in 2hrs....like I said before it takes away the uniqueness from Cap to have him show up in modern times. Cap 2 is going to be the one that deals with him in modern times and it would undercut the man out of time story by having him deal with Winter Soldier.....I think that he was signed to multiple films because if he dies in Cap then in the subsequent films you can have him have flashbacks...

Or like some people have hinted at they might consider an Invaders spin-off and include Winter Soldier on the team.

You're still not comfortable with Blake Lively as Carol Ferris, are you?

I'm okay with that, I just find it odd that every time a superhero movie is casting these days it seems like at least one or two GG cast member's names are in the mix.

or a more radical Idea I had....in the early comics Rick Jones went from Hulk's friend to a psuedo-sidekick of Cap's...it bothered Cap because he looked just like Bucky....

hmmm...they should put Rick Jones in a sequel to TIH. If there ever is one.

I don't expect WS to be in Cap 2. Cap 3 though....

And they didn't get him for multiple films just to be in flashbacks. They're making this a period piece for a reason. We're getting Cap and Bucky's story during WWII right now. What would flashbacks achieve and why would it be necessary to have flashbacks for 4 films? I can safely say we're going to see Winter Soldier.

Sebastian is a really good actor. He was very good in Kings and I could see him in this film and then after a solo cap film going the winter soldier route. I think he's a bit too old he's like 27 but I guess they want cap's partner (they should refer to him as partner not sidekick) not to be too young , it would be unbelievable and weird.

I think you'll see elements of Winter Soldier in this film. Not full on frozen assassin for Russia. But the skills and whatnot.

It's pretty obvious they sign these guys to multi-picture deals in order to leave themselves the ability to call up a character in not just sequels, but other movie-verse additions.
Well of course, but it's still a hell of alotta movies to lock these actors into, cameos or not.

And some characters are better left resurrected. Bucky is one of the few characters who became MORE popular after his resurrection. I can't think of many comic characters who can say the same. Most resurrection stories are just half-baked nonsense done to bring in a popular character back. Winter Soldier actually made a compelling story out of a resurrection story and made a character most Cap fans didn't care about seem totally awesome. The Winter Soldier story is part of one of the most acclaimed Captain America runs and it adds an entire new element to the Cap mythos. It would be foolish not to use it, IMO.

Besides, if he's signed up for 4 or 5 films then Winter Soldier is pretty much guaranteed at this point. And that's awesome.

Absolutely agree. I was horrified at the idea of them bringing Bucky back; I said it was an incredibly ridiculous idea and that it's finally saying that Marvel has no qualms about bringing back anyone. I read the story, and never have I cared so much for Bucky. He went from something chiefly used in flashbacks, sympathy angles, and alternate universes to something in the forefront that really works. In his short time being back in the Marvel Universe, he's gone through incredible growth! Compare his journey from brainwashed former ally, to atoning good guy, to fully forgiven good guy who gets the very mantle of Captain America. That's a heck of a deal right there! :woot:

Anyways, not familiar with this guy sadly, but right off the bat, there's something that I like about his face. I'm hoping for the best and will keep a look out for him.

Never seen this guy in anything, but I got good vibes.

And I like the idea of an older Bucky. I couldn't take a kid as a sidekick seriously. Lke Robin, it's better to go older. If they do a serious relationship and maybe Bucky even narrating the film and how he got to know Rogers then it could be cool.

I did not see him in Gossip Girl, but I do remember him on Kings and he was good in that one.

well i am sure he will probably not be the goofy sidekick of the early comics. He will probably be a train solider/fighter. Befriends steve, learns he is cap. Then teams up with him in missions and with the invaders. Then they will probably have him and cap die like the comics. And then option for him to become winter solider in other films, and say he didnt die and was found by russians or what ever the case is and go from there.

I watched Kings an thought he was great in it.Glad to see he got Bucky.

Another horrible choice. Bucky is a teen sidekick and this guy look about the same age as their Steve Rogers. Maybe they'll be able make out.

You actually want a 16-17 year old kid to be running along side of Cap during his adventures? Good Lord that would come off terribly on screen. Stan can play a somewhat younger but still capable soldier that can hold his own in battle, while being more of a peer, friend, and confidant to Steve Rogers rather than a lame sidekick.

He looks like Bucky in this pic from Kings.

Isn't there only like a 4 year age difference between Cap and Bucky in the comics though?
