Speaking of Spider-Man's run so far in regular theaters, my local theater is dropping the movie this Friday because of the new FF movie. Spider-Man will now start showing at my local discount theater instead. Still pretty impressed with Spidey's box office performance.

TF will not be anything with the number 1-3 in it. And it is only overhyped here on the internet. TF has a smaller fanbase than that of Shrek, POTC, Potter, and Spidey. I put it at #5 or #6 for the summer.

Another Snakes on a Plane type deal, eh? Overhyped on the net but the general public isn't very interested.

I don't know, each TF tv spot/trailer does deliver the goods. I can see it doing well, not well enough to be in the summer top3 but well enough to hurt the legs of Shrek 3 and Pirates 3.
Spider-Man 3 has done everything it could and more, people will keep going to see it no matter which new film is out, ensuring steady incomes.

Most of the films this Tuesday went up...some by much more. Still it's a great hold. I was laughing at Fantasy Moguls today where it said Spidey 3 will only hit 325-330 million domestic. Keep in mind this was brand new news...today. I was like huh? It's at 326 now so how is 325 in the mix.

actually I know tons of people who are looking forward to Transformers. And many don't even know what it is. It looks cool and it's not a sequel. It won't bury anything, but I think as long as it's a good action movie it will make a lot of money, because for the most part it is something original.

Transformers may bring in a decent amount at the box office but I can promise right here and now that unless YOU have 100M to blow on watching this movie over and over again by your self it will not make 300M. It won't even make 280M I doubt it will even see 250M.

And know I hate Bay I think he is one of the worst film makers period.

You never know what the hell a movie is going to make, your hating it or the director means nothing, it's the majority who decides. TransFormers could hit 400M domestically, highly unlikely, but still to this day I'm still trying to figure out Titanic's huge cume. Even though I actually like Titanic.

I was In 8th grade when Titanic come out. every girl was talking about Titanic and how many times they seen it. That continued for months. I knew a girl that seen it 37 times. Or so she claims, thats why that movie made so much money , it pretty good to.

I KNEW titantic was going to be huge. how? well I wanted to watch it because of cameron (T2/aliens) and also because of the special effects I knew would be in the movie so was going to ask my girlfriend to come along but knew she hated action movies so held off, anayway, she comes up to me and says 'let's go watch titanic, I was like, SURE! t:

so basically you have a movie appealing to two major demographics. male and female audience hyped for a movie for completely different reasons that's how I knew it would be huge.

It's actually not original. Just because it isn't a sequel doesn't mean it's original.


To all those saying you never know I will say this. I KNOW it won't hit 300. I am 100% positive. If by some off chance pigs fly, hell freezes over, 13 year old girls stop watching movies because of Depp, and this movie makes 300M I will come back to admit I was wrong. Lucky for me that won't happen.

I have to agree with you there. I respect the amount of work and research Cameron put into that film, but it was ultiamtely a VERY BAD love story about some wholly uninteresting characters, IMHO.
