Aloha,
The definitive Spider-Man movie, has not been made yet. When it is, it will be nominated for an Academy Award for best Picture. That's how great the material is for the character Spider-Man.
Spidey rules

Sorry but good luke seeing a superhero movie get an academy award. Those people would never give on out to the superheroes no matter how good a film was.

Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins are proof of that.

So why exactly, after bringing in someone with passion for the first 3 movies, would they bring someone totally left field without a passion for Spider-Man for the next 3 movies?

That's really unfortunate Tmag is the only actor you can see as Peter Parker. Let me ask you this, before Spider-Man was cast, who did you see as Peter Parker? Did you already envision Tobey Maguire? Because that's what you basically said in your post.

And the movie you said would get critically killed is doing pretty good so far, Transformers.

Once again let me state that I did not say it would get critically killed I just said it would suck.... However, if by doing good so far you mean not so great than you are correct. Look at (My least fave source but i'll use it anyway) Rottentomatoes the critic score is only 60%. Is that good for you? Hell even the overly hyped pathetic huge fan nerds that rushed to find anyway possible to see it only can muster up a 84%. It has strongly mixed reviews it appears that the REAL critics either loved it or hated it. What a shock the ones who love it either love transformers period or enjoy Bay's other craptacular movies.

And umm go SPidey

agree agree and..agree

Bays movies equate to...great special effects, suported by terrible plot with bad holes and very choppy off beat...dumbed down comedy

Chill out..and My bad...are not things I want Autobots.

Much like all of Bays movies...some hype is around it because of...OMG..look at the Trailer it must be great

WOM will put this movie much like many of Bays movies at a max 200 million domestic

Unless you count The Incredibles. :cwink:

if watchmen is done right it has a shot.

I second that!

And, I still think a Spidey movie could pull it off. Spidey 2 was almost there, but not quite. It was perfectly crafted, but the premise was more simplistic than most award contenders. Not a failing, but a reason why it didn't get any Oscar consideration. Batman Begins I don't think was anywhere in the ballpark.

I hate the Academy Awards now. They only nominate the movies that are supposed to be "important". What happened to the days when movies like Raiders and Star Wars were nominated for Best Picture?

I would like to say amen to this, but the truth is, the adventure pic isn't really what it used to be. It's been bogged down by special effects replacing creativity.

and Lord of the Rings won. That has to count for something.

Yeah, well, it got away with it because it was based on books that are considered "classic", and it took three movies to get there anyway.

Almost $883 million and a guaranteed run of at least one more week at IMAX before Potter hits.

No director would ever explain how Spider-man can hit Doctor Octopus without killing him. Just like they never do that in the comics.

I think people should actually watch the DVD's to see just how much is actually done for real. Basically it's a lot more than they think it is.

Watching the 2.1 DVD a lot more footage was done in live action than I originally thought, especially with Doc Ock's tentacles.

Third movie was not the best Spider-man movie, but I'd probably watch the Spider-man movies over the Transformers, which used a ton of CG.

Yeah I can't see watching Transformers too many times for my personal enjoyment but I'll take my kids back to see it one more time. As a first experience I only enjoyed Shooter and 300 more. FF2 is a close #4.

That term is so dead!

Money wise..this film is a success..story wise..its a failure.Odd..
Spider-man3 has a great Story IMO. It has suspense moments along with Romantic moments, Action moments, etc. Which is great. I loved the Storyline in Spidey3 and I completley enjoyed it. I loved Harrys Character in the Film. I loved the Symbiote Storyline and how it changes Peters action. I love everything about Spidey3. I thought the "revenge" and "forgivness" moral of Spidey3 was great to. Thats just My opinion though.
