People can call it whatever they want. It's still the best Superhero Franchise out there.

I totally agree here; however, our opinions are always viewed wrong according to the eyes of the naysayers, I will not mention any names here...

Monday numbers are in. $296k for Spidey. Not bad. Only down 37% from last Monday.

One thing that Pirates,Lotr and Harry Potter. The characters in all those movies are all british. If those movies had Americans in them they would not have made nearly as much money worldwide because of so much anti-american hate in the world. I guess the british accent is hip.

Um, what? Apparentley not in the case of Spidey 3. All of the characters in that film are AMERICAN and it's doing better overseas than it is here. LOL, you are sorely mistaken.

I like Star Wars 1-3 and Spider-man 1-3 the best in trilogys. I ONLY watch POTC to watch Keira Knightley. :heart:

POTC is not a great trilogy. CotBP is great, but the sequels are far from it. I thought all the Spider-Man films were great. I only hope we get one more great Spider-Man film. If Raimi, Tobey, and Kirsten come back, we have a more sure chance.

After SM4, I couldn't care less if SM5 and SM6 get recasts and end up being mediocre to bad, because I will have one of the only great quadrilogies!

I agree on those being the best things for Spidey4 because I think it should happen. Peter and MJ have been togeather for a while and I think it's time they got married. The Lizard is an amazing Villion who I think should without a doubt be in Spidey4.

They'll be back, this movie made too much money for them not to come back. However, Sony would save an extra 55-65+ million on the budget by not hiring Sam, Tobey and Kirsten back.

No Harry and the Lizard is a much cheaper villain than Sandman or Ock. They'll save right there.

Agreed to those who want the cast changed. Maguire doesn't own the role. He's ok as Pete. But jeez, the way he delivers lines as Spidey just doesn't appeal to me. I want to see another trilogy and what more to emphasize that with a cast and director change. Yeah yeah, this team made the Spidey franchise a financial succesa, but like I said, I'd like to see another trilogy with better actors.

I'm not saying the present cast was terrible, I'm saying I want a different direction or tone with future Spidey movies so a different cast will help achieve that goal.

If Pete and MJ are going to marry in SM4, I don't want a recast just yet. I have no problem with a recasting (though I think it won't end up as good).

I still think Pete and MJ marrying and the Lizard as the main villain with the current cast is the way to go.

Given that experts are calling the big threequels of the summer a disappointment - given that disappointing here means less than 400m domestic... -, Spidey still came off in the best position with only a moderate drop from part 2, while the other two took nose dives. Then there´s HP5 and how Transformers and Ratatouille will do, is anyone´s guess.

You don't have to worry about a recast, if the money is right, and it will be, Sony will bring back the whole crew. Unless Sam/Tobey/Kirsten simply doesn't want to do another film, I'm doubting that with every beat of my heart. Of course, they may tell you that they have no interest, as a way to say to Sony...gimme the loot and I'm in.

True, but Spidey really made up for his domestic cume, by grossing an extra 125M+ overseas compared to its previous films and out grossing them worldwide.

Yeah, and the studio risks an SM film with bad performances. Money can really make B.S. go away, I mean Maguire and Dunst seems to like the idea of risking being typecast (if they aren't already), "just give us big bucks", they say. t:

Tuesday it grossed 308k...so it had an increase. Go Spidey!

People seem to confuse not being perfect with not being good. Although AWE and Shrek the Third were horrible movies, SM3 is solid and thats probably why its leading them in $. If all the big threequels were disappointments domestically, at least SM3 has the rest of the world to rely on.

I don't like recasting the Spidey cast. They are so great at playing the roles of all these important characters. But thats just my opinion.

I agree. I think Spidey 4 is the end of the road for the current cast on the basis that if they agree to do 4 that they will probably be talked into it. Afterwords I'm sure they would like to move on to do different things. They may all agree to sign on for 4 as a tribute or favor to the fans of the franchise, as there are many.

Thats very doubtful. I cant see them coming back for one movie, and then leaving it up in the air. If there gonna come back, Sony is gonna want to keep them for another trilogy.

Its going to be one of 2 ways:
There either gonna stay on for 3 more movies
Or there gonna get a new cast for the next 3 movies.
