OFFICIAL: Theatrical Trailer Thread

Hmph. Coulda fooled me. He sounds like Morpheus!
I don't know about anyone else, that voice gave me goose bumps. Whoever did it, should be the voice of the Silver Surfer, period. And yes, that includes if it is Fishburne which I doubt that it is.

>^^<

At work, I cannot view Quicktime and YouTube is blocked - anyone have this in a Windows media format to share, please? :yay:

Looks good. Pumped up compared to the first one. With the Silver Surfer, it really looks to be epic. The only fun scene was the switching powers one, though. I hope they keep the light-hearted, family vibe from the first one. Honestly, though, if it's a good, entertaining movie, I don't care how they do it. :)
I'm glad they are putting this with the Spider-Man 3 movie.

Could be good, but it reminds me too much of Fox's X3 trailer to get m e too excited. I will say this time it actually looks like it will feel like the Fantastic Four and all of them look more comfortable in their roles. The action looks good for a change and yeah.

Oh the trailer uses Doug Jones as Silver Surrfer's voice and it sounds PERFECT for how I always imagined the character. I don't really like Silver Surfer having Morpheous's voice, but oh well.

I don't mind Fishburne doing the voice, as the voice shouldn't sound like an everyman, it should sound epic, a little eerie, as James Earl Jones did with Vader.

Silver Surfer is going to make this movie for me anyway. SS is one of my top fav characters. I don't think hearing Fishburne's voice makes me think of Morpheus because the voice just fits SS so well. It's calm but grand.

The switching powers deal kind of bothers me. It's like they're trying to make Johnny into Super Skrull. Near the end it looks like he has Mr. Fantastic, Thing, and his powers combined together

The Fantasticar and SS are great. Doom and Galactus are the big mystery.

But a cool collected voice that sounds alien is what is in the trailer and I always prefer that to a Vader knock-off for the Surfer though.

The voice sounded just like Fishburne's to me.

Well, we dont' yet know what Laurence is going to be bring to the character. He is capable of soft or more powerful tones in his voice.

Great trailer! SFX looks sweet and the Surfer is looking cooler with each reveal. Wasn't impressed with his voice though,...a bit weak. The Surfer needs a deeper, more majestic tone. Maybe post-production can do something in the CGI dept. for Alba's hideous Halloween wig hair! Ugh! Pretty hopped up for this one, looking good!

Is it just me or did Reeds arm look abit fake in the part when he stretches it towards Sue in trailer.

All one has to do is look at the scenes in Matrix: Reloaded when they first arrive at Zion. Fishburne sounds exactly like the Silver Surfer there.

Im not to keen on the trading powers bit. Whats that all about?

I'm gonna have to paste some panels from past FF books where they power swap. People all over the net seem to take issue with this. What kind of fans are you if you don't know every single facet of the history? ;) Sheesh.

Sue stopping the chopper is an example of TPTB not getting the FF. Sue's powers aren't suited for such a thing. She's not Jean Grey. She projects force fields, which would likely kill the chopper passengers. Reed's power would be more effective there. He could bend around the chopper and free the passengers before it crashed. Then Sue could bonce the empty chopper off her field.

The problem is though, that this is only a device to make Johnny central figure in the fight with Doom. And BTW- they haven't switched powers so often that it's commonplace.

I know...it's like totally frustrating.

People are forever complaining that these films aren't faithful to the source material or need more "fantasy/sci-fi" elements and then when they go ahead to lift a concept from the panels fans start whining about it.

Geez fanboys...let's make up our minds already. :whatever:

I'm sorry but..what?

Susan's powers are a derivative of telekinesis since they are psionically driven. And there have been tons of examples in the comics where she used her powers to slow down moving objects, even acting as a cushion for falling teammates. The forcefields are not always "hard"--they've been shown to be malleable.

But does it have to be to be utilized in the film? I'd prefer this comic nod to Ultimate's Organic Goat Hoofed Doomage. :p There was a whole arc devoted to the power-switch situaton--it's out in trade right now. In it, Susan learned a whole new appreciation for her brother's abilities. It was a high-selling series too and it should be fresh in the minds of many readers.

My point is the power-switcheroo has precedence in the source material and probably supports another plot point.

She has been able to project her force fields, to simply knock someone off their feet, as simply a bubble in the airway.....she has come A LONG WAY from the early issues....your reaching Dragon....and you are having to reach a long way......how many of the recent issues have you read?

It looked okay to me but I can't get past the fact that it looks like's reaching RIGHT for her breasts. I guess he's interrupting his work for a little fantasti-grope.
