The Fantasticar was never gold, you were seeing a lighting effect off the surface, which has been pointed out before on the boards.

I didn't really like the trailer. I think that this is going to be a lot more like FF1 than we all originally believed. I thought the thing with Johnny and Ben's powers switching was pretty dumb, and I think it completely goes against the epic feel that Story promised fans.

Back to the power switching idea... thought I'd bring up a classic storyline (at least by my reckoning) where Dr. Doom tried transferring the FF's powers to his 'son'.

I'd hazard a guess that this is where they got the idea to transfer and combine the powers in that shot.

I wasn't that impressed, and I impress easily. I've been "wowed" by the last Spider-Man trailer, the Pirates trailer, the Harry Potter trailer, the Live Free or Die Hard trailer and all the Transformers footage I've seen so far.

After an excellent teaser, that was a letdown. Hopefully the film isn't.

no wows? How about a mountain range collapsing and Surfer swating missles like darts? This trailer kicked major @$$!

But not really showing Doom...I think thats a mistake...the mere image of him would ehance that preview so much more...and to the general public who aren't aware that Doom is back...imagine the reaction people would get if they just had one reveal shot....I just gave myself goosebumps.

But think about the bigger gasp from the moviegoing audience when they see him waltz on screen for the first time...... As big of a surprise as he will be to the F4 themselves....that to me is WAY COOOOOLER....

I totally agree, it's rather pathetic. I have a feeling this movie will get railroaded, just because it was popluar as a film critic to do the pile-on, at the time.

One who has a sig singing the praises of ectasy, may not be the best to differentiate between sanity, and being "delusional". Just something to think about.

thats becase a lot of people when rating a trailer they talk about teh footage. they dot even think about the ediditng,how the music fits,the structure of the trailer.
a lot of people just comment on the footage. and i am oen of thsoe who think this trailer is a disaster. but i am also one of those guys who liked what i saw in the traielr but that doesnt change the fact that IMO the trailer(TRAILER) is not good.

Well I have to disagree with you on this post, if you have read through this entire thread, you would find that MANY have looked beyond the footage, and looked at the editing, the music and the structure of the trailer. Many that did not have alot of good things to say about the first movie, in fact. So please do not talk down to those of us that do indeed look deeper into these things. Because for many of us who do and I am one who does, in our opinion, it was a very good trailer (TRAILER) indeed. Just one final point, your opinion is not fact. Therefore no change was needed.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh. The age old delema. These negative views are based soley on the 1st film. Face the fact that some did not like the 1st movie, their views are biased. This film could make a kazillion dollars, and they would still say it stunk. We'll just consider the source and move on. t: This film will so outshine the 1st one, and some can't stand that thought.

In that. Pretty cool, leaves a lot more to be seen in the cinema. Problem with movie one is that the final battle was really the ONLY battle, though much mileage was gained from the bridge rescue.

I like i keep saying, FF2 is going to be more of the same.
But, then again, no one should have expected anything more than that.
It´s the same director, the same cast....
For the record, i liked FF, not a great movie, but a funny little saturday morning cartoon in live action.

But, to be really honest, and i hope i´m wrong about it, i expect this one to be just the same or worst, not better than the first.
Why?
Because the storyline demans something an all lot more adult and serious, we are dealing with the end of the world, not just some guy in a suit, but a cosmic being, a force of nature.

Agreed...its all said and done now, unless a TV spot later on comes out and shows Dooms cloak hood and mask.

This time around...Doom needs to be a symbol that really invokes fear when he walks on screen...they need to make it Vader-ish.

So...Doom is getting hit with a blast from The Surfer it looks like...are the making a deal? Is Doom offering to help in exchange for getting his full flesh and body back...SS could take away that power defect of his and thats how they can explain it if it does happen...or...Sufer realizes its not Viktor at all...its a Doom Bot and blasts him...whoa...brainstorm meltdown.
