OFFICIAL: Theatrical Trailer Thread

It looked okay to me but I can't get past the fact that it looks like's reaching RIGHT for her breasts. I guess he's interrupting his work for a little fantasti-grope.

Can you blame him? She's totally hot in the scene. I mean...dayum. We should be thankful he's not stretching other thangs. :hyper:

Yeah I know that storyline. And Johnny becomes the Invisible Man (How original) and herald to Galactus.

I'm saying this- folks are so often griping when others want accuracy to the source material saying how changes have to be made, which is true. But then when these movies grasp hold of ANYTHING that's appeared in the comics, that isn't necessarily the best thing either. Again- not everything from the comics is golden. And you know this isn't power-switching where the whole tema will have to use each other's powers, which could be cool. This is so Johnny can be a one-man FF.

And we're getting all of this nonsense instead of a straight-up battle with Galactus? :cmad:

Ahhh... now I see where you're coming from.

In the long history of the FF in the comics, there have been so many instances where their abilities have been used in multitudes of ways, that in order to give the audience a reasonably accurate movie... they have to pick and choose which aspects are going to be featured.

In your estimation, the things that the production staff has chosen to highlight aren't the ones you would have chosen... and therefore, the movie suffers because it doesn't fit your vision of a perfect FF movie.

But it doesn't look like she's trying to abruptly stop the chopper--there are people in it. As you mentioned, erecting a hard shell would destroy it upon impact. It appears she is guiding the chopper to the ground--encasing it in a shield to cushion its landing.

Exactly she guided it in rather than stopping it bluntly

This reminds of the Things vs Truck scene physics complaining last time:csad:.......That was you as well wasn't it Dragon ?:cmad::oldrazz:

Oh god you just took us back to the Dark Ages, circa 2004. :p

I thought Sue guiding the helicopter in the trailer was one of the best parts. Like I've said before, she seems to have more control of her powers and be more comfortable with them. So far the trailer seems great...I really can't find a flaw in it.

My only gripe is the Human torch appearing to have all of the members' powers and he is flying on the Surfer's board. originally I thought maybe it was doom in human form on the board using the FF4's power...but it clearly looks like Johnny.

Are you sure you're not underestimating Susan Richards' abilities here? She has incredible control of her fields--this would hardly be a difficult feat for her--she's moved and manipulated far greater masses of force than a mere helicopter.

Again- if she projects a field strong enough to stop the chopper, everyone dies. If the field is too soft, the chopper crashes and everyone dies. It's a team- the Thing could grab the chopper from behind stopping it's forward movement. Sue slows it from the front, Reed frees the passengers.

Well, the production budget probably said otherwise. :p

But they have money to turn the torch into a one man show?

Besides, I doubt that Reed's tux has been doused in unstable molecules. He might have been able to contort his body into something larger to handle it, but we do have to keep it PG-13 afterward for the kiddies. ;)

You witty young man :O

Well, why not just say that then--you want to see someone else (like Reed for instance) involved in this feat? Saying that Susan's powers are being misapplied because you think Stretcho would look better here doesn't make any sense. She's just as capable to land that copter.

I've been saying that since the FIRST film. But I do think Sue's powers are misapplied. She can't land a chopper. She can hold it aloft, she can crash it. She can't manipulate the controls. In both the comics and movies Sue is shown to do ridiculous things with her powers in the name of some silly idea of making her the most powerful member of the team. It's a TEAM. Let them all shine. It was wrong when Sue was benched for being a woman, and its wrong when the rest of the team is benched for her being a woman.

No they aren't.

"ALL" of the FF are considered mutants--but only the Storms possess psionically driven powers. Ben and Reed's powers are generated from their mass--inside out. They cannot manipulate other objects or matter with their minds.

Sue doesn't manipulate other objects with her mind. She projects fields of force that push objects. Johnny is basically just in tune with heat forces surrounding him. Not other objects. And it's been explained more than once that Ben's condition is due to his mental, not physical state. As for Reed, who knows? He hasn't spent alot of time exploring the full uses of his power.

I'm saying their powers are psionic in that with all of them, the full potential of their powers is limitied only to their mental focus. I mean even with the Thing, do you think he went from class 5 to 85 strength just because he was pumping iron? I think as time went on, he got stronger because he believed he was stronger. On the other hand, someone like spider-Man's powers are more based on physical capacity. He can move with extreme agility and fire weblines accurately due to physical use of his powers, like any athlete. Or the Hulk who's power is fueled by his aggression. In all of the examples there's mental focus, but it has to be much finer with the FF.

Well actually within that entire scene.....SHE DOES NOT STOP THE HELICOPTER.....she slows it down.......Ben has to jump in and help and if I'm not mistaken Reed gets in on the act as well......so how about....

We ALL CHILL AND WAIT FOR THE DAMN MOVIE.........:cmad: :o :cwink:

Maybe they have just decided Sue has more control over the force fields strength ? they don't have to rigidly sticking to the source on that and Torch is chasing SS and it seems that you are guessing the physics of complete fiction

Also who knows what the others are doing while Sue saves the chopper

Oh my God! I just watched this for the first time. When it came online last night I couldn't download quicktime to watch it over at apple, but I caught it now (at college) MAN! That was amazing I can't wait!

After reading the posts by a lot of you, I have just one question. Have you ever touched a real live girl that you didn't have to pay for?

"Physics are physics!" This is a super hero fantasy, physics have no role here. Go watch a documentary if you want physics.

I know that Sue Richards is your ideal gf, but you are obsessing WAY too much over her. Find a real girl, lose your virginity and stop arguing over fictional characters special abilities....I know that Sue Richards is your ideal gf, but you are obsessing WAY too much over her. O_o

You. SHUTTIE. :rolleyes::p

Yes, I know that and agree with you to an extent.

However, I am fairly well-versed in the Invisible Woman's abilities and landing a chopper would be an easy feat for her--and that's consistent with the way a number of writers have portrayed her over the decades.

We need an icon showing a guy ripping his hair out. Drakon, get right on that.

WHAT?!?!?!?

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Yes she does manipulate objects with her mind. What the hell do you think she's been doing for the last 40-fricking years?????

If she wants to move a candlestick from one end of the room to the other she has to encase it in a field and move it mentally. If she has five suitcases and doesn't want to carry them all, she has to create platforms of invisibility under the luggage to tote them along. Ditto for when she glides through the air--she is moving objects (in this case, her body) psionically.

Susan Richards' powers are clearly a form of teke. I can't believe you would suggest otherwise.

Yeah, that's the one I was looking for, but that one's cool too. I just love looking at these things because you get to see all the detail that goes by too quick in the trailer.

You can really see how nicely they crafted the surfer in some of these loops.

whoops thought i'd posted that already:O

And this is your second post......

You better Call your momma!!! oh yeah i went there :woot:

WOW :wow: That was a pretty (fantastic) trailor. Felt very epic as some have said. And the last scenes with SS, incredible. Looks to be shaping up nicely to blow the first one away, and I kind of liked the first one. :hyper:

Sue is also able, in the comics today, to manipulate her forcefields well enough to ride the damn things, along with Ben and Reed......

I beg your pardon sir, virginity is way too precious (does it exist anymore) and the idea that lack of sex is the root cause of so many fanboy's frustrations and irritations is unfounded in scientific research.

To suggest that we are obsessing over fictional characters because of some deepseated physical desire or sexual repression on our part is completely off base and I am shocked, SHOCKED I tell you that you would think such a thing.

I can assure you that everyone here is as pure as the driven snow, well except for J alba's lover and Carp Man of course. :o:cwink::cwink:

I found a blooper! Reed's dress shirt stretches with him when he's stretching for something in the lab. (The scene where Sue's walking through and then stops.) I can't do screen grabs or I'd post a picture.

Apparently Kel does.

Unstable Molecules!

Or, er...

...something...

[whisper]I'm sure he'd unstable molecule his dress shirts.... I mean, I suppose he COULD... why would he? Then again it's not like Richards ever needed a reason to do something.... I think I'll stop talking to myself now...[/whisper]

I am a huge comic fan, but I hate going to shows and conventions because the majority of people who attend them are guys with no social skills who have never gotten laid

What, do you ask them or something?

Something like that.

Show-off ;)

Apparently Kel does.

Hey after the last movie, I'm scared to death to quote anything from the novel and say its in the movie......BUT thats what I remember......:yay:
