I have the perfect THOR: Shawn Wayans (white chicks). Look at those long blonde locks.

Imagine a hammer instead of a football.

^^ Maybe for 616 Thor...

but bearded Rebecca Romijin for Ultimate Thor. :oldrazz:

Looks more like Victor Creed.... a really sexy Victor Creed... move over Liev Shreiber... :cwink:

I'm not embarassed, but I am somewhat dissapointed to read this coming from someone who's avatar is the TNA world champ.

Have you seen the kind of roles Kevin Nash gets? Have you seen Dead or Alive?

Marvel Studios will not cast an old, broken down wrestler as Thor. They won't cast a pro-wrestler as Thor period.

I love Samoa Joe. And not to say that he could never play a movie role. But he ain't playing Thor.

For all the "success" the Rock has had. He's not getting the huge, career master thespian defining roles. He's not the new Schwarzenegger, and the studios won't cast him as a super hero or in a huge budget tentpole like this.

Also about the height. It really doesn't matter. You guys nitpick about height so much, but in the end on a 40 foot movie screen it won't matter. Hollywood for years has made people forget that Tom Cruise is shorter than most of his leading ladies, and shorter than the average man. The short hobbits in Lord of the Rings were played by regular sized actors.

You kno the rock was to be Captain Marvel but chose to Be Black Adam(whenever the film gets greenlite)

Yes this elusive Captain Marvel film that is NEVER getting made.

Well Snikt seems to have buggered off for now, which is at least some relief. For Thor, another thing to think of is how his character will blend in with the other avengers. For instance, when you think of Downey Jr's Tony Stark, there needs to be a certain amount of chemistry. I personally think anyone who wants to cast a Wrestler in a talking role, that role better be Braindead Prisoner No 4, otherwise they need a fake piledriver to the head.

I would be happy with an unknown Thor, but I think someone british or even scottish would be good. I know people like Brad Pitt in Troy, but I think it always looks so tacky when an ancient warrior, or viking or knight or whatever, has an american accent. It just rings really false. But i'm sure Kenneth Branagh feels the same way.

As people here are suggesting wrestlers for Thor, here's one who has had some acting experience.

Btw, I'll never suggest enough times to go see this great movie.

Mickey rourke? Too old but if the age wasn't an issue than yea he would be good

Lol, yeah Mickey Rourke would be great. That is, if he did'nt resemble a melting candle. Maybe he could play Thor if he ever gets electrocuted?

Well it would seem equally false that the ancient Trojans and Greeks would have british accents wouldn't it? I mean this is greece and turkey we're talking about, not england.

And I wouldn't count on Branagh wanting european accents. Seen his Hamlet? plenty of American actors there.

I'd prefer a scandanavian for Thor.

Oh I'm still here, and you're still an immature jackass.

When I read an intelligent post that warrants a response and looks to be a good topic of discussion, I'll post away.

For now I'll continue to look over your juvenile 12 year old posts, searching for something that's not incoherent and childish.

I'd prefer a scandanavian for Thor.

I would also prefer a Scandinavian Thor, but I can live with the British accents.

Gladiator is the best example of giving ancient characters (180 A.D.) British/Australian accents and that working for the overalll film's benefit.

Thor should definitely not sport an American dialect.

I'm really worried about the Blake character, just not as much as the casting choice for Thor.

Branagh has been the project's most re-assuring development in my opinion.

a norse god probably speaks norse.

Bravo

What I've gathered from reading through the majority of posts in the thread, is that the only major concern for Thor is that he emulate characters from TROY and 300.

Nobody seems to care about the larger than life physical and mythological aspects of him or his Norse dialect.

As long as he's Brad Pitt, people are happy :whatever:

I'd love to see Wolfgang Petersen do Thor. I was watching Perfect Storm the other day and the image of Thor hovering over that giant wave just popped in my head and I thought to myself, wow, Petersen should do Thor.
