True. Guys who get strong by slamming axes into other people's faces look a lot less ripped and toned than guys who hit the gym a lot.

I just noticed that there's no gender specification in the warriors call, too. I wonder if we'll see more shieldmaidens than just Sif. Perhaps even some Valkyries. :hehe:

I don't know, they'll have a pretty hard time finding actresses who are 6'2" or taller :hehe:

And it does say that the actors need to be comfortable with prosthetics, so it might be a casting call for dark elves or something. That would explain the "no bodybuilders" thing.

The Valkyries were in the first draft, but I guess we'll have to see if they've survived the redrafts.

Haha, I forgot about that part.

Hey, does anyone know what this part of the casting call means: "sptv050769"?

I think it's just a mistake that the website which posted it (spoilertv) made while posting it.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe sptv050769 is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

Lies! :argh:

I figured that was probably it, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't some kind of special Hollywood code or something.

So this took me way too long to realize but in the casting call for the college student they mention her being in this 'Small New Mexico town." i guess its just cause of the comic books but i always assumed Thor would land in New York. This is a bit of a revelation. I guess theyre trying to drop him in the opposite of the frosty land of Asgard. I like the potential for a huge battle in the desert with storm clouds and lightning behind the plauteaus

Unless she's a figure in Jane's backstory and Jane moves to New York by the "present day" time for the film. We don't know how big Marcy's role is.

From the front page:

With all of this jibber-jabber about whether Robert De Niro and Jude Law are or aren't in Kenneth Branagh's Thor and who they might play, those sneaky blokes at Movieline interviewed Dominic Cooper for Lone Scherfig's An Education and just happened to notice that the young British actor, best known for his role in the musical Mamma Mia!, was preparing to audition for a role in the movie himself!

Essentially, the interviewer happened to notice the Thor sides Cooper had been studying and started asking questions about whether he'd been approached for the role of Fandral the Dashing, one of the Warriors Three, already knowing the answer.

You can read exactly how it went down at the end of that interview over on Movieline.

Of course, just because Cooper is studying, that doesn't mean he's already gotten the role of the blonde bearded swashbuckler, but it certainly would be interesting to see him, De Niro and Jude Law as The Warriors Three if that's the way Branagh decides to go.

And here's the interview portion that is mentioned on the front page:
Finally, have you been approached to play a role in Thor?
Ummm…yeah. Kind of.
But nothing’s finalized?
No, absolutely not. Do you know much about Thor?
I know some.
Tell me: Is there a good part for me?
I know of a few that still need filling.
Which one would you see me as?
Fandral, maybe?
[Looking down at the script sides near him] You know! You’re looking at these very confidential pages!
I can read upside down, Dominic.
It says “confidential,” Kyle! [Laughs]
SOURCE

:awesome: @ the number of actors that are being associated with this movie lately. It's hard to keep track

Dominic Cooper is actually a really good actor (forget Mamma Mia!, he was great in The Escapist), and a while back I suggested him for Balder. But he could work as Fandral too.

Looking at his IMDB he's a motion capture guy so I'm going to go with Frost Giant

nice to see the cast has another member. I dont know Gatt's work. So cant wait to see who/what he might be.
