I don't :csad:. He's a decent actor but doesn't look like Fandral...at all.

Give him blonde hair and a van dyke and he would. Plus theres no doubt in my mind that he could pull of Fandral's dashing persona

Cooper as Balder seems a better fit IMO

I like how this film is shaping up.

We don't know how old Fandral is, really. Volstagg's super-old, but Fandral and Hogun's ages have never really been nailed down, as far as I've seen. There's a lot of leeway there.

Don't know if I'm convinced...can you imagine him with blue contacts ? Too bad Cary Elwes is past his prime, they should get a skilled unknown lookalike.

I nominate Judi Dench as Frigga:

If both Cooper and Jude Law are up for Fandrall, I'd choose Law. He's got that dashing persona down to a T.

Errol Flynn would've made the perfect Fandral back in the day.

How about the guy who played Robin in Men in Tights for Fandral?

Cary Elwes has already been mentioned, dude, and he was perfectfor Fandral when he made the Princess Bride (heavilly influenced by Errol Flynn)

but he's far from being fit for the role now.

Yeah, Elwes just appeared in Psych a couple months ago and he's definitely packed on the pounds. Although, if he trimmed down, he still has the looks for the role. His face hasn't aged too much from his Men in Tights days.

You could be right there, but I'd take a monumental effort to shake off that excess weight - would he have time?

Probably. He's not a giant fat-ass or anything. He's just a bit stockier than he was in his younger days.

A picture of him in Psych:

Yeah, he was like that in Georgia Rule.

He was in awfully good shape as Wesley, the Dreadpirate Roberts though; I doubt he'd be able to recapture that kind of fitness/shape again.

True. Or that he'd even want to. He's pushing 50 now, isn't he? You get to that age and, unless your name is Stallone or Van Damme, you just stop giving a s*** about getting into shape for roles. ;)

Elwes must have the worst agent in town.

I will never understand how a guy like that in his hey day, never became a big star. I will never understand it.

Well, we all know who he is and he's been in some pretty beloved movies with The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I'd say he's done all right for himself. Very few people blow up to, say, Brad Pitt's level.

I watched Saw like 4 times before i realized it was Elwes... My jaw literally dropped! like Corpy said, hes not a fat ass by any means but damn! I think he could get back into good enough shape for a role in Thor if he wanted to, i doubt RDJ was in that good of shape before signing on to IM... or Mickey Rourke as Randy "The Ram".

could be worse... he could have been in Saw III, IV, V, VI, or XXIV. or worse still, he could have been in "Repo: The Genetic Opera"

Don't forget Hot Shots! :woot:

He's just like Michael Biehn. The guy was in Terminator and Aliens for crap's sake.
