Thor - New Casting Call

[ISABEL ALVAREZ]

50's/60's A sweet small town gal who has lived her
whole life in the same little town where she grew up. She's faced
plenty of ups and downs in her many years but has everything she's
ever wanted or needed in the small slice of Americana, family, friends
and the best little restaurant in town

^is she a significant Thor character at all? or just an extra?

All the significant roles have likely been cast/are in the process of being cast already, this seems like it's a minor role

Just curious but I see all these choices for which actor should play which God in this film. Does anyone actually know which Gods they will show since it's highly unlikely they will include them all in the first film?

We 100% know that Thor, Loki, Sif, Odin, Heimdall, and the Warriors Three are in it, and I would be flabbergasted if Balder doesn't show up. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess as to which Asgardians will show up.

i am guessing that character is probably just going to be some minor role.

Who's everyone thinking will be Heimdall? He's a badass character so I hope he's featured for a good amount of time.

Heimdall has like "super-sonic hearing", a big horn, and like a big furry cape thingy on his shoulders. I think he's Sif's brother too. His job kinda blows though, because he has to stand on that "Skiddle's bridge while all the Asgardian's party

Heimdall has super-every-sense, actually, and he is indeed Sif's brother. He seems to like his job, though. He's a pretty somber dude anyway, so I doubt he'd be partying it up if he weren't constantly standing guard. And he's got a cool mustache-less beard. :)

He would certainly be excellent at it.

I feel like the Thor rumors come and go so fast now, I feel like its just Batman 3-like publish-everything-you-hear rumormill

Oh dear :csad:. I like the man but casting him as Odin is going to further ruin immersion. Same thing that happened with Ian Mckellen, "Oh look it's Magne..Gandalf.". Don't tell me they can't find a decent and lesser known actor who also looks the part. I'd much rather see Stellan take the role:

Nah. I would go with the better actor. Not to mention the Gravitas he brings.

See a lot of people seem to think Anthony Hopkins is the best thing since canned fava beans :o. He's a decent actor (which is rare in mainstream cinema) but certainly not the best and the worst part here is that he is massively overexposed. Actually, no one on the following list should be allowed anywhere near this movie :nono: :
George Clooney
Billy Bob Thornton
Brad Pitt
Will Smith
Leonardo Di Caprio
Anthony Hopkins
Robin Williams
Tom Cruise
Ben Affleck
Vin Diesel
Chris Tucker

I'm not sure where that list came from but it is really, really dumb.

Oh I'll tell you what's dumb. Claiming to like something just because it's popular at the time and never bothering to look at things objectively. If you knew anything about acting as an artform you would quickly realise that most of those people are woefully overhyped. The sad part is that they are preventing other talented actors from getting a much deserved break into the mainstream, however brief it may be. As an aside, you want the audience to be entirely focused on the story and the characters instead of the 'star power' of the actors playing said characters :whatever:.

Hopkins is not at all over exposed. Most of his roles are not mainstream, and certainly are not big budget block busters. Wolfman is a pretty big deal for him after a bit of a break.
