And so Loki is a dude again. Funny that major change happened off-panel, with relatively little fanfare.

I have no idea why that happened. I guess it has something to do with Sif waking up in the old lady, but the preview wasn't very clear on that.

Also: I guess Thor does still need Mjolnir to fly. Fun. The Odinpower is apparently just a pretty name at this point, 'cause Thor doesn't seem to have anything other than his classic powers, which is a shame.

Probably cause the body is gonna die when the old lady dies. I'm sure it's explained in the issue.

I wonder how many people who've never read Thor are gonna be like, "wtf, Loki's a dude now?!" in another couple months when this catches on with Loki's appearances elsewhere. :D

lol I'm still wondering how SIF is going to react when she finally gets her body back. lol

See, I think this is a missed opportunity for the God of Mischief. He should have lured Norman Osborn into bed, only to revert back to male form while they were in the middle of doing the dirty. That would have been sure to drive him back off the deep end.

I'm going to miss Lady Loki; I found her way more interesting than the male version.

How? They're the same character. Presumably JMS will continue writing him the same way.

Yeah, one of the things I really liked about JMS' interpretation of Loki up until now was that he really made no allowances for the female form - he portrayed him in a manner utterly consistent with how he'd act in his male form.

Oh yeah JMS was flawless there. Loki was still Loki no matter what the body looked like.
Which reminds me, besides the Preview of 602, has Loki appeared in any of the Dark Reign books in Male form yet?

Also, what about the cover of September's Mighty Avengers?

It may take a while for the changes in Thor to be reflected elsewhere. After all, a couple of issues back, we saw that in Mighty Avengers Thor had not yet been banished, and the Asgardians were all still hovering over Oklahoma.

Mighty Avengers seems to be a little behind the times, yeah. Then again, that cover could just be unreflective of the comic. Loki releasing Sif's body shouldn't really have anything to do with his ability to masquerade as the Scarlet Witch.

Okay, loki is a shapeshifter to such an extent he can actually reproduce as an animal of the opposite sex. He looks like whatever he wants to, that's part of the trickery peoples.

Yeah, but it seems kind of useless to keep up his feminine appearance after coming clean to Blake/Thor about it being Sif's body. Seems like a great way to court a hammer to the face to keep wearing that image even after Sif's restored to her own body.

Looks to me like just the Scarlett Witch's loki form, though this story could take place before the next thor issue (and considering the lateness of thor it just might).

It'll be interesting few months to say the least.
heh Loki the transgendered-crossdressing-god :woot:

Actually poly species gendered, but he's not a crossdresser, he always wears something appropriate to whichever form he chooses.

Can't wait for this issue, I'm glad they aren't making much of the odin power, makes thor infinately more interesting when he's not all powerful.

I don't mind Thor being less powerful, but if he's still holding the Odinpower, it doesn't make much sense. I guess I'll have to stick with my fanwank explanation that the final Ragnarok and the desolation of the Asgard dimension has left it significantly weakened.
