I might agree if this wasn't the best thor I've ever read. Might. I don't mind waiting for a throwdown if you give me something like thor 600.

Can't wait to see how all you guys feel when this book gets dumbed down to the point of just thor being all powerful and completely unrelatable and no one reads it anymore. Guarntee you loeb's name is being seriously considered as I type.

Every time I've tried to really get into thor (and mind you the book does have my favorite comic book character) I couldn't and always ended up leaving. This is the first time I've ever liked thor this much. To each his/her own, but remember these words: You're gonna miss this level of quality very very soon.



I like humans and gods interacting, you rarely get humor in this type of book.

This is me as well. Maybe it's because I haven't read a ton of his older stuff so I can be more forgiving. I will seriously miss this creative team when they are gone. I hope the new people don't suck so badly that I end up dropping this book.

If the new creative team isn't phenomenal, Thor's going to slip back to the 50s in the top 100, where he's generally been for the last couple decades. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are reading Thor solely for JMS and/or Coipel and/or Djurdjevic. Change the team and the direction and, just like Mighty Avengers after switching from Bendis to Slott, even if it's good, people will drop it.

Simonson has been very clear in the past that he doesn't revisit characters (and, anyway, him returning would inevitably set people up for disappointment).

i just read thor #602. boring. depowering thor yet again. why does he need dr. strange to help him fix his hammer. the odin power that thor inherited should have gave him all the knowledge on how to fix his OWN hammer. strange needing the entire odin force sucked out of thor to fix it was just a bad plot device to depower thor. maybe this book does need loeb on board. seriously, loeb would make thor the god he should be, an asskicking god that just destroys other superbeings. just like what loeb did for red hulk. if anybody should be embarrassing the hulk like the way red hulk did, it should be thor with the odin-power or thor power. because right now, this book isn't as godly and epic as it needs to be.

Wow, I was with Gracen until that Loeb bit. The restoration of Mjolnir/depowering of Thor was really contrived, but I certainly don't think Loeb would've done any better...

True, no one seemed to care that Thor was supposedly at an all-time high in power. If he'd kept the Odinpower, it would've just made his inevitable future losses to everyone under the sun more confusing.

I missed all the "JMS leaving" talk. I don't really have an opinion on it really. If the new writer can keep up the level of interest while including some more action, I'll be cool. Not Loeb though :

The best part of Bendis writing Thor in that Free Comic Book Day issue was how little dialogue he actually wrote for him. Probably saved me an aneurysm.

okay, not loeb. not after the crap he pulled when he had rulk beat an odin-powered thor like a drum. but seriously, this book needs a writer that can make the norse gods respectable again. if they ever were. as for how jms has written thor himself. embarrassing. at least jurgens, during the gods & men story arc, wrote thor the way he should be written when given the odin-power. now since jms took over, he hasn't pulled of anything impressive. as for the norse gods, they should all be just a power level below regular thor. back to the norse gods, i watched the hulk vs. thor blu-ray when hulk rips the norse gods a new one. hell, 2-3 norse gods should be able to handle hulk. problem is, the house of M will never give the asguardians there do. long rant, i know.
