Yeah, that was ridiculous. Why even have soccer kicks if there is a stipulation like that?

The fight was over anyway. Tim was crawling away and totally out of it.

Well, really if you have time to stop and look at the ref to ok soccer kicks, then the fight should already be over(which it was).

Either allow them, or don't.

Soccer kicks and head stomps were a nice visual when they were around in Pride FC's heyday but that era is over. Time to move on.

I'd rather not have them then these stupid ineffectual watered down rules.

If Victor Cui wanted One to have a unique rule set why didn't he just go with the old Pro Shooto class A rules? You had the standing eight count, points deducted for catches, those rules were pure and awesome.

Still, the visual of Tim Sylvia crawling to the cage to grab onto to something in order to get up makes me laugh. Though his concussion is sad.

They announced they have officially adopted pride rules after that bout, and it was declared a KO. The rematch is still gonna happen though.

You can't make your own unique rule set? You have to have PRIDE rules or Unified? Why?

DREAM, ROTR, Pro Shooto events, etc all had unique rules that worked.

Did they really work? Where are they all now?

The fight really should've been stopped before Arlovski even through the kicks so that's why I'm iffy on soccer kicks at all. Just seems like One FC can't be consistent with what they want to do.

That's certainly a leap of logic. DREAM and ROTR didn't fold because of their rules anymore than PRIDE did.

The problem is the ref having to give the okay. Soccer kicks and especially knees are critical balance checks to wrestlers constantly shooting. It becomes a lot riskier move when you're threatened with big strikes. It's a barbarian sport with willing people getting concussed, so rules should be limited.

your joking right? of course i didn't mean jones. i was talking about dana. if he pisses off dana, dana won't do anymore interviews with helwani. he gave him a one on one. so helwani has to make sure dana is fine with the interview or he can forget any future one on ones.
