Hey anything can happen.

Fabricio Werdum was a 10 to 1 underdog against Fedor Emelianenko. I'm not saying it's probable, but nothing is impossible where this sport is concerned considering the crazy, ridiculous upsets we've seen sometimes.

****, look at the odds for a fight like Mayhem Miller against CB Dolloway. You'd think the oddsmakers thought Miller was some sort of awesome world beater from the way they set the odds for that fight.

I'll give Vitor a punchers chance, more than the last 3 opponents Jones has fought.

I'm more excited about Bisping/Stann than I am Jones/Belfort.

Like Bisping or hate him, he never comes to fights out of shape & when he does come to fight he is prepared to meet guys in the middle, Brian Stann is exactly the same. Bisping looked in outstanding shape at the weigh in. Physically I don't think I've seen him look as good going into a fight before, he has a hunger about him & seems to really want to fight for a UFC title. Both fighters have done had a few face offs in the past few days & both of them look very hyped up for this fight. Very tough one to call as everyone though Bisping would get out wrestled by Sonnen & actually, in my opinion, should have won that bout as I felt he got the upper hand of the grappling, he also has very good technical kickboxing, I don't feel he has the pure power than Stann does, but I don't think he has pillow hands either. I personally think Bisping will edge it, however Stann will undoubtably be a threat with the power in his hands to change the fight with 1 punch.

Vitor & Jones both looked in excellent shape, Vitor has never looked like he has struggled with cardio from I can recall.. that being said not many of his fights make it beyond 1 round.. but I believe he has good cardio anyway, not cutting any/very much weight will definatly aid him & Jones will also be aided by the extra 3/4 weeks training for the fight as well. Fight could go really either way, if Jones fights smart he'll take Vitor down & try to outwrestle him. Vitor is a very explosive puncher, faster than any he'll have faced before. He is somewhat similar to Rampage however he is more explosive a puncher, but with less TDD/wrestling ability.. however does have good BJJ even though he rarely displays it. I have a gut feeling Vitor is gonna 'upset' Jones, I just have a feeling he'll catch Jones & put him in some trouble, that being said if the fight goes beyond 3 rounds, Jones via decision. But as I said, I've a gut feeling we might see an upset.

Benavidez/Johnson should be a good bout as well, however I'm not really excited about the division as I'm not a massive follower of the lower weight classes beyond I'd say Featherweight. They've there chance to make a case for the flyweight division tomorrow to win me over. They need to make the cage smaller for lighter weight classes.

The fight I'm looking forward to most is the flyweight title. I love me some Mighty Mouse and Benavidez. If it was Jones/Hendo I'd be more excited for that, but since the injury I'm expecting Jones to steamroll Vitor. Stann vs. Bisping is a good one too. I think Stann will take it because Bisping gets predictable with his combos, but he could stick and move his way to a good decision. The X-factor I think is Stann's patience. If he can wait on Bisping I think he'll take it. If he gases himself out trying to catch him then Bisping will probably take advantage of him in the latter two rounds.

That flyweight battle is going to be awesome. A lot of people are counting Mighty Mouse out. Benavidez is a bonafide stud, but I think Mighty Mouse will surprise a lot of people with a win.

Vitor will make it interesting in the first round, his hand speed is amazing as well as his power in terms of striking. The only way he's going to win though is if he rushes Jones after he connects.

Yeah, Vitor needs to go kamikaze in this fight. That first 30 seconds, he needs to explode before Jones takes him down.

I truly hope Belfort KOs Jones. I don't see it happening but this is MMA. Upsets happen all the time, so I ain't completely counting out Vitor.

I think that was the first time I've seen Bones in real trouble with that arm bar in the 1st. Excellent fight though, I have to say.

Bones is the man. Fighting on after being that deep in an arm bar is warrior **** there. Dude's just legendary.

Oh yeah, that flyweight title fight was awesome. A lot of MMA fans just have no kind of rational expectations for a fight. Mighty Mouse's speed was amazing.

Flyweight fight was great. My friend and I introduced another buddy to the fights tonight - he alternated between sitting on the edge of the sofa and reclining on the sofa, with his mouth agape, repeating over and over "They're so tiny!" :D

Oh, and Jon Jones. :awesome:

Very good fight between Bones & Vitor. Vitor by far has put Jones in the most trouble in a fight & is probably the only fighter he has faced with the exception of maybe Bonnar who wouldn't start backing down from Jones's attacks.

He was very, very unlucky with that armbar. Jones somewhat got away with that one by stupid luck, when he realised he was about to get armbarred he did the wrong thing & tried to pull his arm out which allowed Vitor to straighten it, however in doing so when he half stood up Vitor started slipping down his arm & then Jones dropped him on his head. Also was rather unlucky there wasn't more time on the clock when he threw up that triangle attempt, if there had been another minute he might have had time to get it sunk in.

Credit to Jones though, after the armbar, you could visibly see that his arm was hurt.. even moreso when you saw him throw side kick after side kick, he was using that to keep Vitor back as he knew he didn't have the strength in his more powerful hand to stop him in his tracks if he pressed forward.

That was defiantly the first time we've seen Jones in any sort of trouble inside the cage & I'm talking real trouble, the point were he has had to adapt his gameplan mid-fight to survive & get the victory. Credit to Vitor as well, came into this fight with alot of people kinda asking why is a guy that hasn't fought at LHW in years getting a title shot.. and in turn he gave Jones the toughest fight of his career.

Vitor was kinda unlucky, I think Vitor's gameplan was to see what happened in the first, he'd go out & try to take Jones head off with punches.. however when Jones took him down that put an end to the gameplan for round one. Then rounds 2,3 & 4 Jones didn't actually take him down, Vitor pulled guard.. I don't know whether he did that because he sensed Jones's arm was hurt to exploit it, or whether that was his actual gameplan, to try to submit Jon from the guard. It was going well until Jackson said something to Jones about passing his guard, he then did it at the end of the 3rd & then finally in the 4th.

Wouldn't mind seeing Belfort stay at LHW for abit as there are some interesting fights for him if he plans another run at Jones which I wouldn't mind seeing. I imagine however Dana White has told him that his Middleweight 'ranking' won't be effected even if he fought Jones & lost before the fight, so perhaps he'll go straight back down & fight someone like Weidman.

Bisping/Stann was a good fight as well, Bisping just looked in my opinion an all round better fighter. Punished Stann repeatedly for having his hands at chest height by making him eat jabs & crosses, Stann's best striking outlet was his leg kicks, however in the fight I believe he didn't even land much more of those overall than Bisping. Was easily taken down after he began to tire, however Bisping didn't do any damage at all do him when he was on the ground.. but it did no doubt further cement his round victory. Dunno if that victory will be enough to get him the title shot he wants, however it certainly will have put him almost there.

I caught 2 prelim fights that were good as well TJ Grant & Evan Dunham was a great brawl, really excellent fight between those 2. Then the other fight I caught from the prelims was Vinny Magalhaes & Igor Pokrajac which was one by a pretty sweet armbar from Vinny.

Bisping did well to mix it up with takedowns against Stann. Stann kept looking for that overhand right, but those kicks were landing hard. Throwing takedowns at the guy worked. Still don't think he's anywhere near a ****le tot though. I say give him Okami next. Weidmam/Boetsch should be the next contender.

I disagree on Weidman/Boetsch, Weidman looked good against Munoz caught him with a nice elbow.. however against Demian Maia he looked like ****. I realise he took the fight on 2/3 week notice.. however he still looked like **** regardless.

Whereas Bisping looked good against Stann & roughed him up pretty well, looked very good against Sonnen & in my opinion, he beat Sonnen. Then before that he has wins over Jason & Dan Miller, Akiyama & to a lesser extent Rivera.

If Bisping isn't getting the next title shot, he should be fighting the winner of Weidman/Boetsch & then the winner of that gets the next one.

Silva is supposedly tied up anyway for possibly the next 12 months, he has Bonnar at 153 then he supposedly has a catch weight fight with GSP assuming GSP wins his fight with Condit at UFC 154 (Which he will) then hopefully that superfight can take place around June/July barring any injuries. There are no real stand out challengers at WW or MW for either fighter that I can think off, off the top of my head so hopefully this fight finally happens.

just read vitor came into Jones fight with a broken hand

Again?

Didn't he just come off surgery to fix a broken hand when the Wanderlei fight was binned?

nope he took it on 10 days notice and had to cut 32 pounds in 10 days

Vitor had a broken hand?

Vitor also said he'd incurred a side injury while training, and that's why Jones's kick to his diaphragm hurt so much.

Maybe next we'll read that he couldn't see, couldn't hear very well, and one of his lungs was actually deflated during the entire fight. Oh, and his feet hurt. :whatever:

Vitor has nothing to be ashamed of and no need for excuses. He tested Jones.

I realized something last night with Vitor. Does he not have Christ tattooed on his right ribs? So everytime someone punches him there they are punching JC's face.

jones did the #1 thing you should never do in an arm bar

you never stand up and pull out you are just gonna extend your arm even more

got very lucky there
