Comics Official UNCANNY X-MEN Discussion Thread

I like both Forge and Dr. Nemesis, but I like Dr. Nemesis (and his "weird science chemicals") a lot more. I also like Box/Madison. Putting them in the X-Men was the best decision Fraction made while on the title.

Oh I meant Madison Jeffires >>>> Forge. I really have no opinion on Nemesis either way, but I hated Forge so he at least is better in that I dont hate him

Madison's semi-sexual interest in machines is pretty hilarious, and he's definitely a fun character in general.

Dr. Nemesis is a crabby old smartass with a penchant for saying silly sciencey phrases.

I think Kavita has greatly improved as a character since joining the X-Club has well. X-Club has probably been the best thing to happen to those three characters.

I like how the X-Club has been Kavita's story of redemption. She's only ever had the best intentions for mutantkind, so now she's gone from the woman who invented the cure that could wipe them all out (though she only intended for people with dangerous mutations to give them up voluntarily) to one of the people trying to bring them all back.

It's just a shame Dr. Takigushi died after they moved to Utopia. The X-Club needs more giant monster weapons.

nah I still hate Indian Moira. Id rather the original back. It was good briefly seeing her in Chaos War. Cant stand Kavita

yeah that means nothing to me. he still has the dumbest/cheapest mutant power ever. that one issue where the X-Club goes back in time to see Dr. Nemesis's parents was more interesting than anything ive seen Forge do.

Ive always found Forge to be boring with not much personality. His power is conveninent but not all that exciting to read/look at

But Forge is an established X-Men character, Dr. Nemesis is like a D-List character

Being A-list, D-list or whatever doesn't matter. Plenty of fans like some less popular characters more than some really popular characters. I currently like Dr. Nemesis more than I like Wolverine.

D-list characters can never become established X-characters if they never get the chance. Many great characters today started out as C and D listers but became more popular after a writer actually developed and built interest in them. I wish this were the case more often instead of sticking with the "safe" options

Yeah, it seems like most people want to use Cyclops, Emma, and the Claremontian 70's/80's X-Men (Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Psylocke, Rogue). Even the characters from the 90's have all been thrown away. Marrow lost her powers, you almost never see Gambit anymore, Cable is dead, and Bishop is a dead traitor.

to emphasize what Manic said, i think Marrow was one of the best characters to ever grace the X-Men line up, and probably the best to personify who the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning was trying to help. that being said, im sure im like 1 of 5 people who feel that way about her.

yeah one of things i really hope Gilleon does is gives us a new roster and let some of the new kids whove been around for 10 years now step up play in the big leagues. i wanna see Mercury become a full fledged member fighting alongside X-23 and Colossus. I want Hellion watching providing support for Logan. and not just for one panel for one story.

I could see a pretty cool X-Club title with Madison Jeffries, Dr Nemesis, Forge, Beast, Moria McTaggert, Cypher and Prodigy.

That would be awesome

Have a read of the Phalanx Covenant - the representation of what Forge's power really is, is awesome

i dont remember him being in Phalanx Covenant at all, but it gave me a new respect for Banshee.

He was on (I think) Muir Island, and entered a room where Douglock was. His mutant power kicked in and visualised the everything about Douglock. Was pretty expressive and made him seem more than just a weapons maker.

I've actually always liked the post Muir-Island/pre Blue-Gold team (with a couple additions). Just before Gambit and Forge became official team members and the bunch of them put on updated blue/gold uniforms to go into Shiar space. Forge, Gambit, Psylocke, Banshee, Jubilee, Wolverine, Jubilee, Storm. Swap out Jubilee for Iceman, and Storm for Cyke, and I'd be happy. I always like teams with varied yet complementary power sets that cover all the areas.

that mustve been in one of the books outside the main story in Uncanny and Adjectiveless which i didnt read.

Yeah. It was the story where X-Factor, X-Force and Excalibur teamed up.

Phalanx Covenant was a horrible, boring crossover outside of Generation Next. Life Signs and Final Sanction, werent all that interesting for me

The good chapeters were in these books...lol. The other 2 werent worth touching

I liked Forge in the saga of muir island storyline plus there is a scene when wolverine puts a cigarette out on his tongue freaking everyone out.

the Muir Island X-Men were fine mainly because of Banshee and Polaris, but again when the stories focused on Forge i lost interest. i was torn when i wanted to read the issues that featured Beast and Jean, characters i like.

The last issue of this was terrible. The Lobe is supposed to be a genius right? Well why is he so ******ed? Creating a virus that effects mutants... then turning himself and his allies into mutants...

And Pixie... dear god how annoying can a character be?

Now that Matt Fraction has gone i might start picking this up again.

I had hopes this arc would not revolve around trying to make Cyke and Emma look awesome.

The start was good but ended up with Cyke and Emma to the rescue.

Thank God Fractions gone

......for now
