Best. Cover. Ever. :D

Ha ha well done the second writer to pick up the whole kitten thing. I like these little nods to other books.

That's what happens when you become a private company sponsored super team lol.

I was just going to say when hasn't he got a secret?...

I think this secret's kind of already out there, though - just not necessarily for every X-Factor reader.

At the end of his most recent solo series, Gambit became the Guildmaster for the World's Thieves' Guild. In his free time, he's leading the planet's largest organization of thieves.

And PAD went ahead and confirmed it in an interview today too since those covers came out. The earlier rumor reports were right, they're Warlock and Cypher.

I hope Cypher isn't written like a human computer as Wells did with him in NM. It would be good if he had more of a personality

Those teaser pages look great, especially the art. Yummy... :D

So wasn't really impressed by this. It wasn't Rictor on a ledge ready to jump. But I'll stick with it as it is PAD and X Factor.

I think it's one of those series that's going to take a few issues to really get the ball rolling. They've got to get the team together and get everyone settled, then the real storytelling will begin.

Really? I thought it was great, but then I do have a strong Gambit bias. I was all happy Gambit was written in character and not all strange. I don't think PAD has had occasion to write him much. The art was really good, too. :)

Iamlegend and sqeekness. I agree with you both. Gambit was written really well and I did enjoy the interaction with Quicksliver. Also of course they need to get the team together I was just expecting a few more little gems.

My guess is the next issue will have a lot less Gambit and more of the others who are coming on next. They just used Gambit to lure us Gambit freaks in. :D

I loved the issue and already its better than the last volume of X-factor. I only wish it had better art bc the one it does have isn't too good. Really great writing for Lorna here and I like that she is the one that requested Gambit join

I liked it. Not stellar, but it kept me interested. I've got a lot of faith in PAD's writing, so I'll definitely stick with it. I loved the characterization.

What's Polaris and Gambit's history together? It seemed like they were close, but off the top of my head I can't think of a time they were on the same squad.

Guess you're forgetting that. They were on Milligan's squad together and before that were on Austen's team. They were also Horsemen of Apocalypse together. At her bachelorette party, it was revealed that she was attracted to him. Most recently, they interacted in Astonishing X-men. There really isn't a lot of on panel interaction between them, but they've definetly been in the same space to be familiar with each other

That explains it, I haven't read any of Milligan's run or Austen's. Thanks, Havok!

This is looking good. Was on another site, and many of the Gambit haters were saying that they liked how Gambit was characterized here. That's progress!

Hee hee...

I have a strong feeling PAD is going to pair them up and I 100% support that
