I Just saw it on cable last night, and as I watched as much as I could take I thought about this question, was the movie a disaster because of the directing, the script, or both?

I feel the directing wasn't that bad actually. The script is a different story, no pun intended. Maybe with a better writer Tim Story wouldn't get so much heat.

I think alot have to do with the fact that the "general public" have more then likely not even heard about the Fantastic Four before the Movie

I disagree. My friend never heard of them and he enjoyed the movie, while myself a huge FF4 fan hated it with all my heart. I feel it was the script that ruined the movie more than the directing.

How can anyone defend the film is beyond me. I don't mind that it was an action comedy, it is supposed to be, but it was a very poor action comedy.
