It is ridiculous for an infraction from 5+ years ago to haunt you forever especially when 10 infractions result in an auto ban. Some Hype members were very young and dumb when they joined, but went on to mature and become good members. They shouldn't have the dumb decisions and actions of their youth held against them in perpetuity. We all said and did dumb things when we were kids.

We've had a number of long time posters get banned due to getting a tenth infraction over the years. Personally I feel that after a certain period of time, two or three years for example, you should be able to get any that aren't serious removed.

While I have never had an infraction (did visit the Hype many years ago), I think in the long run don't let it worry you. There are more serious things in life (such as criminal offenses, rental history, credit report, insurance, job prospects, ect.) that I would worry about most and not even give this a 2nd thought based on how much else there is to worry about. One could be banned for life but that's the admin. decision not ours. If they want to be that way it's not like you can't sign up with a different username (I'm not advocating doing this but whatever). I'd say try and talk with them that's all one can do. They're hopefully people too and will decide on what kind of government they want to run here.

Too be fair, it can't haunt you if you don't do something dumb later on. If you have matured, it should not be a problem at all, because you won't do anything worth an infraction. If you get 10 infraction over a goo length of time, even if you averaged one a year, that is a you problem imo.

Also if you were so young and dumb that you ended up with like 8 infraction, that is still a you thing. The vast majority of infraction seem to come with how you act towards other posters, which should follow you around imo.

My sole infraction is for discussing something in a thread that was vaguely classified as a spoiler, and not using proper tags. By the time I logged on again I'd found my mistake and had an infraction for "insubordination".

Both of which are untrue and I was given an infraction for saying "a** hole" with a space instead of "*******"... however ass and hole are ok to say.

another time the SHH's very own news feed was nothing but TDKR articles and one article about TASM's Lizard... so I said "hey the lizard made the front page lol"

the other 2... yea i probably deserved those... but both were for the same reason so it should be 1 and not 2

Apparently there's two types. The yellow and red cards. Yellow are warnings and red mean business. I think that's how they go anyway. I got a yellow one a while back and I'm showing at 0 so far.
