The green Speedos are so iconic though, so they need to have a nod to that at some point. But Speedos make many types of swimwear, not just the briefs (which most people refer to as Speedos). They have ones like shorts or ones which cut off just above the knees, or even full length pants. We see some of these in the Olympics.

Maybe if they set it in the 40s someone might capture namor and put him in a tank and make him do tricks. The speedos are part of the show and the humiliation of him which helps him reject humanity

It would be cool if Marvel used each F4 movie to introduce new heroes and villains. The first could be with Namor and Dr. Doom, 2nd with a rebooted Inhumans and Annihilus, and 3rd with Silver Surfer, Galactus and Doom.

The F4 could be the best intro vehicle in the MCU.

Nah. I'd rather the green Speedos are his and that he embraces it. Maybe he wears that initially but people think it's too immodest so he wears the black shark suit with armpit wings instead.

Yep, my money's on Johnny. I hope we get a Sinister 6 film, maybe by the 4th film, and that Spidey has his own team to go up against them.

I could see someone like Reed or Sue popping up in Doctor Strange or Ant-Man 3 or something. I think they'll want to introduce at least one or two of them before getting the solo film. Like Spider-Man

Much like Cap's classic look if Namor gets to the MCU I would assume there will be a quick scene of him in the green speedo to pay homage to the comics as well as give those looking for beefcake a bit of a thrill but his main costume will be some kind of adaptation of the black outfit.

For those claiming it's iconic... So are Caps physical headwings and Thor's helmet, Hawkeye's cowl and on and on... Yet lots of design elements don't make it into live action. I doubt they'll have Namor in speedo trunks for a host of reasons.

Well said. Getting the character right is more important than transplanting all the little fun comic bits. I for one have no damn clue how they're gonna handle Namor's ankle winglets.

How about Jamie Dornan for Reed? He's actually a surprisingly talented actor outside of 50 Shades

He'd do well to get Reed away from being a nerdy archetype

I've seen him brought up in the Batman thread and he's admittedly better fit for Reed than Bruce Wayne.

or some other exotic form of branding on his skin which signals his royal lineage

It could work considering the Atlantean's worship of deities from the Greco/Roman pantheon.
The royal family could be seen by their society as their mediator/messenger to Neptune/Poseidon. So Mercury/Hermes could be associated with the royal family, and that's where the imagery comes from...

Atlantean technology? Maybe he wears anklets that turn into wings. A bit like Star-Lord's helmet.

Eh... You can design the ankle wings in a way that doesn't look silly at all. Same as I assume Mamor's ears will be done in a way to look a lot less like Spock's.
