Who mentioned the duffer brothers? That would be fun. They would definitely embrace the retroness. I could see them tackling that atompunk vintage fallout type look with glee.

Anyone have sixties related looks you would like to see the FF have?

I did. Though it had less to do with anything Retro and more their talent with casting, ensembles and mix of Spielberg, Lucas and Carpenter type style. If not them then Shawn Levy who has also worked with them on ST.

One thing I hope is that once the F4 get established in the MCU they will revive the Inhumans IP and make them supporting characters in a F4 sequel.

Yeah, I've been thinking and The Duffer Bros are my top pick to helm this. They wouldn't be a bad choice for X-Men, too.

I fear with the Mutants back that the Inhumans will sit on the shelf.

Not only that but we really have to temper our fan expectations with these things. As successful as the MCU is after ten years with all the various IPs that have gotten to the screen a VERY limited amount of their aspects from the comics have been adapted or are ever likely to be adapted. The Inhumans as this regular part of the background of the FF was probably always gonna be something less likely than other parts of FF lore.

Frankly as much as I like them let's be honest that they have never been big sellers and any comic prominence of the last 15 years is due to the effect of the Fox film rights of the Mutants which is null and void now.

We as fans have to get used to the idea that yes, even the amazing MCU is not the comics in the sense of output or the economics of things. Comics put out 12 issues in a year and their production values in terms of the story are limited by literally the cost of ink and pen, printing and the imagination of the writer and artist. Films are a different animal. We can all just say "Make the Inhumans supporting characters for the FF film" but realizing that to fan satisfaction in a movie suddenly adds an ENORMOUS amount of money to a film's budget. And right now the MCU can only put out so many films at a time. The next installment of any individual franchise is marked by years between.

Wanting it all and wanting it now is human nature but we have to temper our fan wishes.

Yeah it was more like wishful thinking that, years from now, they could be redeemed in a Marvel Studios movie.

With a Disney/MCU Fantastic Four when this film is made then I wonder what kind of post credits scene would you go with?

Well whoever plays Sue, I'd love to see something like this:

If the movie set designer Ken Adam were still alive, I would've loved for him to work on the production. He did all those "futuristic" sets in the 60s and 70s James Bond films like Dr No, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. He also worked on Dr Strangelove.

You'd recognise his work, and even the Austin Powers films tried to copy some of those designs. I think he would've been great in bringing the Kirby looks to life.

Yeah, I was frustrated when they announced the movie and eventually TV show that yet more characters that had started with FF would debut without them.

But while the TV show was a huge disappointment, that opens the door to do them right in an FF film (and hopefully brush that all aside).

And realistically, as bad as the TV show was, they could even loosely keep elements of that if they really want. By the end, they were leaving the moon and coming to earth, so the FF could find them hiding in the Himalayas. They would need to be recast and done much better, but with or without the history of the TV show, they can start fresh with the FF.

Reed Richards - Steven Yeun

Susan Storm - Imogen Poots

Johnny Storm - Cole Sprouse

Ben Grimm - Brian Tyree Henry

Doctor Doom - Matthias Schoenaerts

I like Poots for Sue and Matthias for Doom

Oh at one point Shawn levy was going to direct flash! Then again so was everyone else in Hollywood at some point.

I would love that! They’re an essential part of the marvel u. And such great characters too when marvel isn’t trying to make them the Diet Coke xmen

HAS to be doom tinkering in latveria. The audience would go mental. Just seeing that cloak from behind would be epic

Yeah I would love to see sue have a kind of Lesley gore type thing going on.

Oh was the Austin powers guy the same as the original James Bond guy? That explains a lot. What a talent, I would love a colour palette like that

Oh my gosh I love Steve Yuen. I’m dying to see him in the MCU

I don't think the Austin Powers guy was, but was clearly inspired by him. Maybe he could work on it if he's alive.

This is the same problem as "grandma" Aunt May and how her age doesn't make sense in relation to Richard and Mary (since Ben would realistically not be 20 years older than Richard) but the problem with a comic accurate 22-23 year old Sue is her relationship with Reed. It's going to rub a lot of people the wrong way if a 31-36 year old man is dating a College girl.

In the comics, Reed is a decade older than Sue and unless Sue is late 20s-early 30s that's not going to work for most people

Maybe they can set the location in Santa Cruz, CA?

Who do you think should be the first villain and what should be the inspiration for their costumes?

I definitely don't want Doom as the first main villain. They shouldn't directly fight him until a ways down the line. I still endorse Mole Man as the first Big Bad. Played by Rick Hoffman, of course.

Agreed. Doom needs to be built up. I think even having him in the post credit scene for the first FF movie would be pushing it.

Updated my fan casts for Fantastic Four.

Fantastic Four directed by Brad Bird

Reed Richards - Matt Smith, Daniel Radcliffe or John Hamm
Sue Storm - Emma Watson or Alicia Vikander
Johnny Storm - Dylan O'Brien
Ben Grimm - David Harbour or Rupert Grint
Doctor Doom - Joaquin Phoenix or Michael Fassbender
