Hate to disagree, but I disagree. His American accent is the audio equivalent of Superman’s CG mouth.

I don't know why they didn't let him keep his British accent, Strange being British wouldn't be a problem. In fact I'd personally prefer it that way for movie Strange.

I would put money on Dylan minnette playing Johnny storm honestly

He’s about the same age as Tom and is an up and coming actor because of goosebumps. I would keep an eye on him

Yeah, I agree. Cumberbatch struggled with an American accent.

I'm sure nobody will mind that he showed up on "Agents of SHIELD" playing their version of Blizzard.

I reiterate, she almost looks like too much of a badass by default. If I saw her out somewhere I'd already know she could kick my ass. Sue needs to look kinda unassuming and, for lack of a better term, basic *****. So when the ass kicking comes you're like, "wha?"

Blunt suits something more naturally physical like Widow.

Can Thing be recreated again with prosthetics? Only done much better?

Pretty much this.

That's the one thing Sue has never been or looked like, basic. She's meant to be beautiful to the point where every other villain wants her as his wife lol.
I agree that she should be unassuming, the type that looks like they wouldn't hurt a fly. But at the same time when she starts kicking ass it should be believable so the actress should be good at doing both. Making her a doctor would help convey the kindness she has more before she gets angry and kicks ass.

Yeah, Cumberbatch is an odd one for me. On paper, his casting as Strange seems perfect but I just don’t feel it. It lacks a certain eccentricity. I thought he seemed bored in Infinity War.

P.S. (again) I’m totally onboard with Blunt as Sue. I’m really boggled by how anyone could think the role’s out of her range or something. I also hate that kid from 13 Reasons Why. Big no to him as The Human Torch.

None of those pictures make her look any more "non-threatening". She plays a certain part very well, but that part isn't Sue Storm. I'd love to see her as someone like Phyla-Vell, but it seems like she isn't interested in any superhero roles at the moment.

In reference to my previous post about Thing not being CGI, there's a way the Torch can be practical, too:

It's easier and safer to just do CG for torch. And I'd personally prefer a Cg thing as well.

I’m just fed up with this mentality of CGI for everything. The Thing and Torch can work as practical effects, as proven before. CG for Sue, sure. Mixture of CG with practical effects for Reed, Ok. But CGI is inherently lazy and ruins the magic of cinema when you use it way too much. Only use it when it’s absolutely necessary. Otherwise, practical effects have yet to break, so don’t fix it.

I also tend to prefer practical effects, but I don't believe that is the way to go for Ben and Johnny. The things Johnny has to do would require CGI, that one video you provided is nice for reference to how the flames should act when he's in flight but it can't be used. It can't recreate the speed he flies at and sharp turns, Johnny's flight segments should be breathtaking like Spider-Man's web swinging. It also can't be used when Johnny is standing around flamed on, you can't set a human on fire for long periods of time without serious injury and you can't see their facial expressions when ablaze.

Ben has had practical effects and they were horrible. The sad truth is that practical effects will never be good enough to fully convey Ben. I belief what was done with Colossus in Deadpool would be perfect. Here is how they did his.

I agree with you on Reed and believe a mixture may solve the problem of Reed's effects looking so bad. CGI alone is not good enough for super elasticity to be believable.

Sue's should be easy to do with CGI, but it shouldn't look like a blue mess like in Fant4stic. If they want the audience to be able to see her invisible force-fields then they should resemble glass and maybe turn slightly iridescent when hit for visual flare.

I will also add that they should definitely try and go the practical effect route when it comes to aliens and other creatures as well as the different worlds/dimensions they travel to.

Yeah, in retrospect, I should’ve said Torch should be a mixture of practical and CG. My bad. The flying sequences should be practical, with some digital enhancements to replicate speed. I still think Grimm can be done practically. The first two Fox films had the right idea. He just needed to be more rocky in texture.

If it’s DC, I want them to do practical whenever necessary. Steppenwolf was inexcusable

After Thanos, Marvel should just make Ben CGI along with anyone else that could benefit from it

With Ben you have to use CG. Practical effects would stile the actor's movements which means that CG would be used for every fight scene anyway. More importantly it would not convey any of the actors' facial emotions, which is important for film. Practical effects are just not as good as CG is with mo-capping when it comes to that. He may be able to be a mix of the two, but he can't be 100% practical it would look clunky and not work.

CGI is much better these days. There's rely no need to use practical fire effects. Its not really gonna enhance the look if the CGI is already good. It would just put work and time for the crew having real fire on the set, and on someone which could be dangerous.

I was watching this video on Newt from Fantastic Beasts and throughout it I thought that when translating Reed to the big screen they should take some inspiration from this portrayal. (I don't think Redmayne should play Reed though)
