Ben appears or mentioned in Captain Marvels film - Because of his history of an Air-force pilot like Carol
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that in the comics Carol and Ben already knew each other before they became superheroes.

I am grateful to the Byrne run for adding She Hulk though. She was great for the team. Even if occasionally the writing was a bit sleazy but that was the time it was from.

I’m interested in which planet Galactus is going to chomp first. Skrullos, the skrull home world would be interesting. Establish them as a powerful empire, build up some audience attachment to the planet and then boom gobble gobble gobble. That would certainly establish how much of a big deal Galactus is.

Or he could even eat Knowhere. That would definitely be a heart stopping moment.

Hey let’s talk about Susan Storm for a bit. Marvel like to promote women in STEM so which field do you think Susan will go into? Some people have said linguists which would be pretty cool, kind of an Uhura thing. I still think astrobiologist would be the coolest thing. Go big or go home with the FF. Reed can be more an an engineer and she could be an alien biologist. They could even say she did freelance work studying the chitauri or even the skrulls

That was probably more John Byrne than just being a product of the time. Let's see, he had:

1) She-Hulk photographed topless while sunbathing by a photographer who looked like Stan Lee
2) She-Hulk turned into a mind slave by Psycho Man
3) She-Hulk forced to strip nude in front of dozens of SHIELD agents and then later subjected to various bodily probing and torture
4) She-Hulk seemingly jumping rope in the nude for an entire issue

and probably many more.

I don't know how Stan Lee agreed to his likeness though for the first one. Why didn't John Byrne use his own likeness?

That said, I preferred She-Hulk's FF persona to all her other depictions because she was not so angry (like her original run) and was more fun and sassy. I didn't like it when she had her own Sensational She-Hulk comic again though, because those stories were so frivolous and breaking the fourth wall instead of just more normal stories (like she had in FF). Byrne went overboard with the humour with Sensational She-Hulk.

John Byrne is the same guy who had Superman and Big Barda being forced to film a porn movie together. :nuhu: His editors should have vetoed some of his more bizarre ideas, but then Cracked and What Culture would have been deprived of a lot of clickbait videos.

Why were they forced to do that?

And why couldn't those film makers just grab two other random people? After all, everyone that Byrne draws looks exactly the same, so any other two people would've looked just like Superman and Big Barda. :o

I know I'm getting ahead of myself. But one of the movie posters for their eventual film needs to be a homage to the classic:

 How cool would it be if they created that scene with actors and CGI for a poster (even if it's not in the film)?

The scene should definitely be in the film though. It's so iconic.

I don't know what Reed would be doing in ropes though. They might have to skip that bit.

Bring in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as The Ever Lovin' Thing. All that I ask. He would kill it.

He would be perfect and bring the right level of energy. Can you imagine The Rock shouting "It's Clobberin' Time!"? I think he's the only guy who can pull it off.

Haha, he could certainly handle that line.

I'd certainly like to see something like that. But I don't want them forcing it if it doesn't work in the story.

Alright, here's my cast:

Reed Richards: Ryan Gosling

Sue Richards: Keira Knightley

Johnny Storm: Josh Hutcherson

Ben Grimm: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Victor Von Doom: Clive Owen

As I recall, they were brainwashed by a creature from Apokolips named Sleez. Sleez then passed them over to an adult filmmaker who would then make a porno of them having sex. Sleez also apparently brainwashed her and raped her beforehand. Darkseid gave Oberon and Mister Miracle the tape to watch, and you see their horrified reactions.

Yes this really happened. It was approved by editors, and it was written by John Byrne. It's not something I can ever forgive him for.

Sounds like typical Byrne.

His stories were a bit like fanfics.

The one thing I can't fault him for is developing Sue (though Malice was unnecessary).

This issue does in fact exist. Linkara (an online comic reviewer for those unfamiliar) did a review of this story for those who want to see it.

John Byrne couldn't draw Hulk or Iron Man to save his life. Particularly Iron Man. He always looked super bulky.

The only time Byrne's Iron Man looked decent was when inked over by Bob Layton in one of the Iron Man issues, and that's because Layton was the Iron Man inker extraordinaire, and basically made Byrne's art look like his own.

I still maintain that the FF MCU movie should be a period piece. Set the whole film in the 60's, then you can have the FF end up in the Negative Zone or something and through some dimensional hooey-phooey they can come to the modern era.

I think they should be completely modern. There's been more than enough period piece superhero films.

There's been like, 2. Maybe.

Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman 2 (set in 80s I belive)
Captain Marvel
Captain America: First Avenger
X-Men: First Class
X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-Men: Apocalypse
X-Men: Dark Phoenix (if it comes out)

Are there any I'm forgetting?
That's 8 superhero films that are or will be period pieces.

Setting the FF in the 60s won't make them feel unique and will only reinforce the opinion that they only work in that time period. Not to mention a 60s FF film would be terrible for Sue as a character.
There's no need to awkwardly retcon them into the MCUs history when they can easily be added to the present with no hassle. Being the "first" family is not that important to films as that ship has already sailed. They work perfectly fine being introduced in the modern day.

And skip the bit where Sue’s a moron, thinking being in invisible will somehow let her escape being clutched tightly.

Not really a fan of that guy. He thinks yelling is funny and he’s apparently a jerk irl.

I think people focus on the wrong aspect of the FF being the First Family. The emphasis should be on the family. Not the first.

They have a chance to show us a group of adventurers that goes beyond being a team, which is all the Avengers ever were.

Reed - Physicist, Asto-scientist, robotics/rocket/tech engineer (basically anything scientific that isn't biological)

Sue - Doctor, Astro biologist (I really like the idea). She's the teams medic.

Johnny - Mechanical engineer. He helps Reed bring his inventions to life but mostly works on the vehicles like the Fantasti-car

Ben - Best pilot in the world. He can fly/drive any vehicle Reed creates like he's been doing it all his life

That's how I see their roles playing out on the team professionally. All of them share one trait though and that would be being adventure junkies. They all love going to new places never seen before and meeting new creatures.

Here's where I think they should cameo:

Johnny mentioned or appears in a Spider-Man film - Because of their comic friendship

Ben appears or mentioned in Captain Marvels film - Because of his history of an Air-force pilot like Carol

Sue appears or mentioned in Dr Strange (if she is going to be a doctor/biologist) - Dr Strange used to be a surgeon so he would have heard of her

Reed can appear and be mentioned in almost any film tbh

I'd like to see any or all members of the Fantastic Four meet the Guardians of the Galaxy. Especially the Thing, seeing as he became a Guardian in the comics.
