Reed - Physicist, Asto-scientist, robotics/rocket/tech engineer (basically anything scientific that isn't biological)

Sue - Doctor, Astro biologist (I really like the idea). She's the teams medic.

Johnny - Mechanical engineer. He helps Reed bring his inventions to life but mostly works on the vehicles like the Fantasti-car

Ben - Best pilot in the world. He can fly/drive any vehicle Reed creates like he's been doing it all his life

That's how I see their roles playing out on the team professionally. All of them share one trait though and that would be being adventure junkies. They all love going to new places never seen before and meeting new creatures.

Here's where I think they should cameo:

Johnny mentioned or appears in a Spider-Man film - Because of their comic friendship

Ben appears or mentioned in Captain Marvels film - Because of his history of an Air-force pilot like Carol

Sue appears or mentioned in Dr Strange (if she is going to be a doctor/biologist) - Dr Strange used to be a surgeon so he would have heard of her

Reed can appear and be mentioned in almost any film tbh

Yeah I like the idea of Ben Grimm as the Toretto of the group.

Johnny I couldn’t quite work out. I kind of like the idea of him as a stowaway

I know I'm getting ahead of myself. But one of the movie posters for their eventual film needs to be a homage to the classic:

Oh I insist upon it! But then again that would mean they would have to use Mole Man and that might be a bit too similar to The Incredibles.

And before people jump in and say THE FF DID IT FIRST I know that, but the general audience know the incredible more than the ff right now

Doesn't mean they have to use Mole Man, anything can replace that giant monster. Just search all the homages to that cover and the creature can be replaced with anything.

I think people focus on the wrong aspect of the FF being the First Family. The emphasis should be on the family. Not the first.

They have a chance to show us a group of adventurers that goes beyond being a team, which is all the Avengers ever were.

That's another problem I have with the period piece thing. It's an awkward retcon just to keep the "first" part. Which, as you said, is the wrong thing to focus on. It should be family, exploration/adventure, and science.

I'd like to see any or all members of the Fantastic Four meet the Guardians of the Galaxy. Especially the Thing, seeing as he became a Guardian in the comics.

That could be interesting. What's weird is that in the comics they met the Guardians like once briefly and then years later Ben has joined the team.
But them meeting each other could be fun for the films.

Yes I really like this. I hope these professional roles are well defined in the film.

Yeah I guess so. Kind of a missed opportunity.

Mole man would make a really fun warm up act for fantastic four 2 I reckon. It’s such a beautiful cover

I was thinking, it might be fun if Johnny Storm is like the social media manager/influencer of the group. That’s totally something he would be into and let’s be honest if you were doing something as momentous as the space race was today you would probably have someone like that

I think they can start on the 60s, doing research on or in space, and then disappear off planet until modern times.

It's not my preferred story though, as there continue to be more and more superheros that "existed already but were hidden" in the MCU.

I'm still on the Oscar Isaac for Reed train but someone brought up Adrian Brody for Mister Fantastic and that'd be great too.

Please, the F4 should be in the current day of the MCU. No 60's, 70's, etc period piece.

Yeah we’ve probably done that enough with cap and ant man and even captain marvel.

It was a nice idea but probably not so much for an already established universe about a group of people who are futurists. Plus it’s hard to do the doom and reed went to high school together and then met up as adults thing

How about Lily James as Sue?

She needs to be in the MCU, and as someone heroic rather than a villain. I prefer her to be blonde than brunette. She has the warmth for Sue.

Oh man, Lily would be a great choice for Sue. She's exactly the type of actress that I think Marvel should cast for the role.

She can fight too

And she reminds me of someone I know when she's blonde like in Cinderella.

I can see Lily James in the role, she's a good choice.
I don't know how well she could do the accent though, if not then the Storms may just have to be British. I'd rather they be British than hear her struggle like Cumberbatch does.

She's done an American accent in Baby Driver, though that had a bit of a southern twang to it.

I wouldn't mind seeing Lily James as Sue. She's not a bad actress.

How about Jessica Chastin as Sue? And Colin Farrell as Reed?

Jessica Chastain is not only too old at 41, but she's also too harsh and cold for the role. If you want Chastain in something, get her either for a villain or for some kind of high-ranking commander.

She could have a mid-Atlantic accent like Grace Kelly. That would allow her to not have to go full American but slightly British, but would also give her a really classic sound like these golden age movie stars.

I think she'd be perfect for Sue.

I can see Lily James as either Sue or a British born Alicia Masters.

Alicia Masters would be a waste for her. They need someone like that for Sue. We've never had a good Sue yet.

This could work   Saw her in Cinderella and Baby Driver and she was excellent in both

From what little I've seen of Lily James she's definitely got the nurturing and kind aspect down. But does she have that edge to her that Sue has. Sue can, on dime, change from the kindest person you met to the scariest when pushed. She's considered the most powerful member and the films better keep to that.

There's a reason Doom respects her the most out of the team.
The actress they choose for Sue has to be able to believably pull off being kind and nurturing as well as a complete badass that even takes over from Reed at times.

From kind and nurturing to badass:

Jumping on the bandwagon for Reed and piggybacking on Dark Raven's suggestion for Sue...

John Krasinski for Reed - This must happen.

Lily James for Sue - As much as I'd love to see Emily Blunt, I don't think she's enthusiastic as her husband is to be in a superhero film.

Dacre Montgomery as Johnny - I think he's a decent actor...he wasn't bad in Power Rangers and while he wasn't given much time in Stranger Things there's potential. Also he's around the same age as Tom Holland so we could get that Johnny/Peter dynamic in the MCU.

??? as Ben - I honestly have no idea. David Harbour would be cool. I'm not that picky about it. I just wish that Bobby Cannavale wasn't wasted in the Ant-Man movies because I think he'd be perfect for the character.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Doom - I think he's more than capable.
