I hope he does Batman 3 then retire.
Yeah, He can do Batman 3, then retire for good

I hope he does Batman 3 then retire.

Have him finish up as Gordon and Sirius Black than he can retire. The guy just needs some vacation time and a little R&R.
He'd have to pay some form of compensation - a penalty, if you will - to get out of it.He's signed for three films.
Can he nullify that contract?
...and the huge sh1tstorm they wrathed upon Cooper once he said he thought the script didn't meet his standards.![]()
Oh, and the hilarious thing about the SW Prequels is, all of the actors are actually good when they're not in SW.![]()
I hate actors who say this. its not as if he works 9-5 5 days a week in a backbreaking job he has the luxury of sitting back in his mansion with his pick of scripts he can act whenever an interesting film comes along actors never really "retire".
Moving from job to job, no real career stability, spending extended periods of time away from home and family, working very irregular hours...it's very cushy indeed. It's not ditchdigging, but it can still be very hard on a person.

Agreed. That man has talent. What do you mean? I thought he was excellent in Life as a House and in Shattered Glass.
From JOBLO.COM:Well, it's a sad day indeed. It seems that the movie gods are calling time on my all-time favourite actor, Gary Oldman's career (can't you guys take Lindsay Lohan instead?) after he hinted that he is pretty close to quitting acting, because his love of the craft has 'withered'.![]()
This isn't an official announcement, but it stills sends a real chill down my spine.
Oldman said "I've had a great career and I'm very lucky to do what I do. But I've been doing it a long time and you can get tired. You might say I want to change careers or to do something else."
What do you guys think this means for Gordon? I hope we get Oldman for at least the trilogy. Anybody know how many he's signed for?
first fans panicing about spacey now oldman?
of course he will finish the 2 movies. he respects nolan.
Technically, Michael Caine is "retired" too. He only comes out for films he REALLY can't say no to: The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Children of Men...other than that he's not really working, not like he used to. Will Oldman do this? Or full on retirement like Sean Connery? No one knows.
indeed. What do you mean? I thought he was excellent in Life as a House and in Shattered Glass.
Any man with Seven, The Usual Suspects, American Beauty and Superman Returns on his CV is AOK with me.if I never saw spacey on screen again, i'd be a happy man. he's an overbaked dork on screen
Yeah, she was about 18.Married to Uma Thurman? The sly dog, never knew that
REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!!!!!!he can be repalced
just like any one else
remember katie holmes
Wesyeed. He loves her.:heart:who the hell wanted her back for TDK?![]()
word is he's signed for 3 bat-pics. i've yet to see someone cite it and I'm still waiting![]()
Thanks for bringing this up SS. I hear quite a lot of people on here mention how Oldman is signed for 3 films. Can someone point me to an article where this is confirmed? I've read that Bale and Caine are signed for 3 films but heck, the 3rd film for those two could end up being a JLA film for all we know.
Flawless! dude we know miranda is M.I.A but where's our other bud keyser the sushi?
i'm with you- everyone says he's signed for three but i've yet to see it in writing
What's up dude? Not too sure where they have been, I think Miranda has been hanging out in the BOF boards. I'm probably gonna start limiting my visits to this forum as I really don't want too many things spoiled.
i would if I could but I'm addicted to spoilers. I convince myself by saying "we've waited long enough for this rebooted franchise so i should help myself to any and all info before the release"
