There was an interview somewhere with Hugh where he talked about her power to send people back, and he said the most she could send others back were very short, I want to says days or weeks at most, and Logan is the only one she can send back further because of his healing ability. So Bishop is NOT from the far future like the comics.

right, our Kitty from 2023. What if old old Kitty from a further future sends Bishop back because he can survive it too, but wouldn't be old enough to do anything in the 70s so he convinces our Kitty she can do it to Wolverine? I dunno. Or there's a time machine in the far future.

Yea I remember that interview, I think he says "a couple of weeks was the timeframe for length of time she's able to send people back.

What we're seeing in the opening clip is Bishop who is not from a further time. He's from 2023. Th rest of the crew are all basically toast at this point. Kitty will send that same Bishop back either a few minutes, and hour, or perhaps a day Anything to prevent that particular Sentinel ambush. That's it. He's not from some far off distant land...

Bishop is from a further future. I believe he got to the DoFP timeline using a one way ticket, as i believe it was stated. His initial time travel has nothing to do with Kitty as far as we know. Where it was, i am unsure, it was during a barrage of magazine interviews.

I severely doubt the credibility of this. Xavier and Magneto are still a Class 4 even after a lengthy time honing in and developing their powers. I would say that only Storm and Kitty are Class 5 material and even that's a stretch. You don't have to be a Class 5 to survive the war with the Sentinels. If everyone was Class 5 they could simply end the war whenever they felt like it. Jean Grey ring a bell?

He's not in it much. To be honest, it was great to see him but it felt like they included him because he would be a natural choice for the future setting, not because he had a great part to play. He was the one character I really did feel was under-utilised.
