    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

Days of Future Past Omar Sy IS Bishop Thread

He's not in it much. To be honest, it was great to see him but it felt like they included him because he would be a natural choice for the future setting, not because he had a great part to play. He was the one character I really did feel was under-utilised.

Was Colossus underutilized?

Bishop was my favorite new mutant in the future!

He was good... but in it too briefly. I would rather have seen Bishop and Storm as a romantic couple and given a bit more screentime with some character scenes. Bishop was shown reacting to Storm's fate, and I'd like that to have been developed. He felt like he just thrown in there a bit...

So was the other three new mutants, in my opinion, he was used more than Sunspot. Bishop at least spoke and was interacting with more people. Sunspot, he was like the Riptide of the film. Cool powers but no dialogue. And the way Bishop died was cool

That scene was SUPERB!

I really didn't see the point of having him to be honest, but that's just me.

x-men movies have never been rich in characterisation beyond a few characters

Shame he didn't blast energy from hands.
I want him in future movie.

Disappointed in his lack of screen time. I loved his design, but sadly he didn't do much in the film.

It's DOFP story, look at the comic, future scenes are short too.
Maybe in another story we see him more.

I get why he, and some other new mutants, were underused. They needed soldier X-men in the future scenes. Brett Ratner would have created some non-comic related mutants like Absorbo, or Jan the Jelly Head, which would have made no sense and made all the X-fans mad. Instead Singer and company thought about the comics and put some notable mutants into these soldier roles. Thus, even though this wasn't Bishop's movie, I'm just happy I finally got to see him on the big screen. The little time he was on, he was treated with respect and looked awesome!

I get that. I've read the comic and I expected him to only have a small part. But that doesn't change the fact that I wanted him to have a larger role.

He was my most anticipated character for this movie, but I have nothing against his screen time. Future Sentinels were too strong, like he said - ,,We can't stop that many."
I just hope we can see him in one of next movies.

Honestly, I don't think we will see him again in the future. But it would be great if he returns.

I liked him in this movie

When I asked my brother what he thought about Bishop. He said "only black guy in the future and he has a gun?"

I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't even think about that.

I do feel he wasn't fully used. He looked great and the actor was good for him. Maybe he comes back from the future to the 80s in Apocalypse.

I was wondering how come Kitty, Iceman and Colossus were with the other band of mutants at the start and not with Xavier, Storm, Magneto and Wolverine in the X-Jet?

Because when they land the jet and come out, Kitty says "professor..." and Bishop, Blink, Sunspot and Warpath didn't seem to know who they where?

I got the same vibe... Like Bishop, Blink, Warpath, and Sunspot don't seem to know who they are. But Bishop seems to know who Storm is. And Iceman goes up and hugs Storm like he really missed her and had not seen her in a while.

hilarious!!!

I liked him but I wished he'd spoken more. He and the rest of the new mutants felt conspicuously silent. Same with Colossus in X3. It was unnatural how little they talked.

Same. I wished all the future mutants talked more in general when they were thinking of executing the plan of sending Wolverine's mind back into the past. It would have been a cool scene of them arguing with some agreeing and some not.
