    Happy Independence Day, Guest!

Days of Future Past Omar Sy IS Bishop Thread

They were only in action scenes that were very fast paced. It would have been silly if they made quips towards the Sentinels or kept remarking how in over their heads they were.

The only thing that I think the film could have used is 1 scene prior to the first attack in the beginning of the movie where we would see them scavenging and contemplating their existence.

Then maybe right before the last battle they are wondering if it's worth it giving up their only means of escape for this plan.

He got no where near the amount of screen time he deserved.

Is it possible they could bring him back? I know he wasn't in the ending, but he could return in the next movie and he's already a member of the X-Men. No explanation needed since it didn't seem to hurt DOFP.

I think that would be okay considering he was already in DOFP. Same with other new mutants :)

So I'm trying to wrap my head around Bishop, Kitty and Time-Travel.

Kitty Sends Bishop back a day or so after the Sentinel Ambush at the beginning. But Kitty's powers means that the person she sends back snaps back to the future when Contact is lost (when they change what they set out to change)

So Bishop warns the New Mutants that the Sentinels will find then in a days time, mission accomplished, Contact with Kitty breaks (because they won't be there then) so Bishop should then be thrown forward to occupy his next day Future self Correct?

I liked what we got of Bishop, as a big of the character of course I wanted more, but I liked what we got, I just in his final death scene he would have absorbed some of the energy the Sentinels were using against him and blasted one of them back with this hands, would have been the perfect death for him!

Which brings me to another point, I know 3 Sentinels were on him but shouldnt he have been able to absorb their blasts?

I REALLY hope we see him in Apocalypse though, sounds like time travel is going to be a factor again in that movie and so Bishop should be used.

He absorbed too much so he exploded.

Yeah thats what I thought, but still would have been cool to see him throwing some of it back. I do think he had one of the best death scene's out of the future guys, though the way Colossus went out was :wow:.

I think he was quite overwhelmed by their energy 1 Sentinel would probably give him a hard time absorbing all the energy blast, what about three. The Sentinels were all over him that there was no time to blast the energy through the Sentinels.

Also the fact that he's using a gun to release his energy is another thing.

It just would have been awesome to take out at least one of those Sentinels with a hand blast, showing him going down like a champ and showing he could do more with his powers, would have been perfect.

I REALLY hope Bishop is in Apocalypse some how though.

I love the way Bishop looked and his powers were adequately expressed but he wasn't the B.A.M.F. I was hoping for.

I kind of wish he went out saving a couple of other mutants instead of just bursting like a water balloon.

Don't get me wrong I loved the movie. I just wish Bishop had a more important/memorable role instead of playing an over-glorified red shirt.

I super agree. :csad:

Pretty much, although the connection doesn't break when the past is altered (it's altered as soon as the time travel begins)-- the two timelines exist simultaneously until the connection is severed and Bishop's mind returns (when Kitty breaks the connection herself right before she's killed, it seems).

I just finished reading the X Men Days Of Future Past orginial screenplay and Bishop had so many lines... But some of the screens where he talked were cut from the final script. But there were a few scenes in the original script that happened the same way in the movie yet he didn't speak. I wonder why?

Could you PM me the script please :woot:

Probably my biggest disappointment with the movie was the lack of Bishop. I get that because of the number of characters some needed to be featured less than others, but Bishop is a great character and visually he looked awesome in the movie. I just wish he had more to do. I honestly think the film should have been another 30 minutes longer. I feel that would have remedied some of the players being short-changed.

^I think even 20 mins longer, TDK, TDKR length would have made all of this possible, and bit more time in the future and the movie would have been nigh on perfect.

agreed. Bryan didnt make him justice, imo. He just.... was there. looking like Bishop, yes, but it didnt have an impact on the audience like it could have been, with the right introduction and decisions by the character.

we can tell when Bryan wants a character to have the biggest impact. Nightcrawler and Quicksilver are the obvious examples. If only Bryan put that same effort in a few of the other mutants....

I think an additional 2 minutes of non-stop action scenes in the future would've been enough to be honest! :)

I think the future battle scene felt too short because it kept cutting back to the past abruptly.

And I wish Bishop had the chance to fire up some Sentinels before he... you know. :D

Wasn't there something about him just learning English when the movie was shooting?
