Days of Future Past Omar Sy IS Bishop Thread

He has dreadlocks currently in the comics too, so maybe that might have been a slight reason behind that choice:

@Specter313
Thanks for posting it, face and hair looks similar to pic with Omar Sy as Bishop, so there's hope for him in next movie :D

I have the feeling that Bishop/Omar will be a fan favourite once the movie gets released.

Most comment are really possitive all over the net, and people is excited with him, so I easily see Singer and Fox using him in more movies and taking advantage of all of this.

Not to mention that he is really famous on France, so he will be pivotal factor in France promotion. Same as Fan on Asia.

Fox should exploit these two characters in future movies as much as possible, not only because of the actors and their countries, but because both characters are so unique, badass and cool looking.

So is Bishop going to be French? Singer mentioned France to be featured in this movie didn't he?

Moira wasn't Scottish and Magneto wasn't Romanian. As long as they get the basics of the character, and the actors/actresses are good, then I don't care

But what if he's only in France and is the leader of a resistance cell on the other side of the planet?

Can we get the name Bishop also in the thread title please?

and do people really miss the jehri curl mullet? lmao

If you've ever heard Omar speak, it's fairly likely he'll be French. He has a very thick accent and his English isn't perfect. Not that that matters when it comes to learning dialogue, but still, I'd say French.

Dreadlocks look much more badass, and fit Bishop much better.

I don't think he'll be speaking French exclusively.

He'll just have a heavy accent like Nightcrawler.

Maybe he'll be from Quebec. Logan back to Canada from Japan, and will help Bishop escape from prison camp. There has to be reason why Bishop has scarface in this movie.

I wonder if they will be using the retconned Lucas Bishop as his real name, which would be stupid coz that would mean that the whole time his sister, Shard, was calling Bishop by his last name.

I'm expecting a good amount of screentime from Bishop.

It seems like he's the only new major character in the modern-day world and we know Dinklage and Evans will be in the 70s.

I'm really curious about his role.

When I look at Bishop pic, it reminds me ,,The Postman": 2013 year, world after war, prison camp, red scarf,...

My jury is still out on Omar playing Bishop. I love him as an actor, but he's not exactly what I envisioned to play this role. He looks descent enough in costume though; I'll give him that.

I heard him speak at ComicCon and I think his speaking is fine, it dosent make me lose focus he sounds perfectly fine so i dont think that should be an issue. Also Idris Alba has an accent not sure were hes from but he can turn it off when he gets into character, this could be the same for Omar Sy.

I believe Idris is from Ghana.

I think it's harder for the non-English speaking person to fake an English speaking voice (ie. American, Brit, Aussie).

I thought Idris was Brit which is why he can do American accent fine. Fun fact: I had the hots for him in Pacific Rim... :o

That is why I wouldn't expect Olivier Martinez (French dude, Halle's fiance) to speak like an American any time soon.
