Ah, home from work, and nursing (LONG week)...and I can read posts again..and get caught up...yay!
Well, as per the (way) above mentioned relationships....it DOES change A LOT to have these heroes who are friends NOT KNOW HIM.
Yes, ( i can agree partially gusy) the points TMOB and (the other couple) mentioned that part of the relationship was forged per say more on the "spidey" side of the coin.
BUT...That changes the dynamic CONSIDERABLY A LOT Tho, to lose the PETER side of the friendship...take DD, just as one example...yes, they've had adventures before knowing...but their adventures and friendship got DEEPER after knowing each other's flip sides.
NOw Pete is like , just a "spider-man" figure to them...sure they can have new adventures...but MY point is, that i would like to be acknowledged, is that it wipes their friendship(s) off the slates period. SUre, they can become friends again...(AGAIN!!)
But, why do we need a dumbed down, history ignored Spidey. That doesn't make him better. I wasn't having a hard time "understanding" and "Remembering his friends and their adventures".
And Black Cat, Doc Conners, Felicia...others...everything is wiped away...all their rich histories...and that is SAD to me. None of all that , which i've ggrown up reading matters now.![]()
The thing that gets me is that it was so unnecassary to "wipe the slate clean" in the way that they have.
You would think that the continuity of Spider-Man was bogging the character down.
It was the exact opposite. Spider-Man has (had) one of the richest and fulfilling histories in all of superhero-dom.
I feel that having half of that history ignored and/or wiped away is a real tragedy.
