One More Day Discussion Thread

Yeah, that must be it

That's what you're showing me. And really, you don't feel stupid for saying "Which you know, with all the said things that have sucked lately, you'd figure that you guys would want a restart."?

It doesn't have to effect most of the Marvel universe, but it has potential to shake the foundations of it. That's what's so key about it.

You need to stop just being against the popular opinion.

Cause one second this change is a huge change for Marvel that affects the entire universe and then suddenly you're saying that it doesn't have to affect the MU.

Like people have said in the past, Pete went to MJ for support or guidance which changed what he would have done, and those things affected other people in the MU which affected the MU in a much larger sense.

So it is either just affects Pete and MJ or affects the entire MU and everything that has happened in the last twenty years.

You can't honestly tell me that if you were in his shoes, and I mean in his shoes 100% through everything that you wouldn't of taken that deal as well. The deal makes him human.

I CAN, in fact, tell you that I would NEVER make such a deal. I'm smart enough to know that I'm not smart enough to have covered all the angles and seen all the possiblibities of the Prince of Lies. If I know that, Pete surely does.

The deal makes him an evil, selfish human (more concerned about how he feels about May's death than her actual death) who is the EXACT OPPOSITE of heroic. Get a clue.

Your sarcasm meter must be turned off. Normally you're one of the people on here that see's stuff like that, but who knows.

It's obviously not the popular opinion if it boosted sales through the roof. Maybe the popular opinion around here, but I equate that to being back in highschool, only this time I'm with all the tards in the wheelchairs and I'm saying 'yes' to what they're saying 'no' to, and the rest of the school just looks at us and laughs because we're all so worked up about it.

And it's pretty much the same sized pool :(

I can, in fact, tell you that I would make such a deal. One of my good friends died because of something I did, and at the time I would of done anything to save her. If you've never been in the situation, you wouldn't understand. If you have, then you know damned well that you would do whatever it takes, even if it means making a deal with a devil because you're a selfish human despite years and years of being a heroic icon.

I have been in that same situation. I truly understand your position, so try to understand mine: I wouldn't sully my friend by bringing her back in such a way.

You say that now, but when it's all happening it's a different story. And to say otherwise would be lying. Either that or it wasn't someone as close to you as Aunt May is to Peter.

What a delightful story. I can't wait to see what Joe and the fellows at Marvel have cooked up next!

Well, Spidey goes back to wrestling and gets ripped off by the guy who runs it. Then that guy gets robbed and Spidey lets the criminal go as payback but that criminal then rapes Aunt May... leading to Spidey's new motto, "With great powers, you have to kick ass!"

Maybe you just don't grasp the nature of pure Evil.

Any intelligent person (or movie-goer) knows that these deals only work out for the Demon.

Are you honestly trying to say that because things happen in movies it would happen in real life as well?

Man, I might as well never check my cellphone messages, or live in rural areas that are ripe for alien infestiation, or get in a car because youre going to get in some kind of accident or shot or mauled by a bear sitting in the back seat...

Man... you are sooo over the top.

What I actually AM saying is that if a GIANT RED DEMON pops into your living room... be SMART enough not to negotiate with the forces of Darkness. Pretty simple.

Well, that's to say that I believe in the devil, which I don't.

Can't believe in the Devil if you don't believe in some form of God.

Although it would be cool to tell people I made a deal with Satan.

Well if he appeared before you and you knew it really was the Devil... and think a moment on this... would you really make the deal.

I'd thought your answers were based more in disbelief in Satanic activities than on what you'd really do in that instance. If you knew IT was real... would you go through with it?

Didn't Joey say it doesn't really affect most of the Marvel universe?

And that's why a s**t load of questions are being asked about how much this f**ks up everything?

Precisely. Joe Q, like the analogy in Matthew 7:26, is akin to a foolish man who built his house on a foundation of sand.

Yes

**** like OMD is the reason that Captain America is the only Marvel book I read anymore. Spidey is one of my favorite characters ever, but I can't support the books that he appears in when they do stupid **** like this.

Peter does believe in God, though, so really you're not putting yourself in his shoes at all.

Choosing between losing your beloved wife forever and losing your aged relative forever? Please. Even if you had an inkling of what you yourself would do in that kind of situation, you have no idea at all what anyone else would do in that kind of situation.

You know what, though? You're absolutely right: the Peter Parker that we've known for the last few years absolutely would say yes to the devil. The Peter Parker that Quesada, JMS, and Bendis has been writing for recent memory, the one who's been the perpetual manchild, the emotionally-stunted timebomb, the inept amateur "hero" with no inspirational grounding in his character at all...yes, that guy definitely would tell the devil to take away his wife, even if his aunt's comatose spirit should appear to him and tell him to move the fck on. 'Cause, hey, that totally makes him more human or whatever.

See, all you guys just aren't seeing it. The Peter Parker that would treasure the time that he's had with the two women who loves him most in the world, the Peter Parker that would be the adult, seasoned champion that he's grown into, the Peter Parker who would truly prove himself worthy of being Marvel's flagship hero adored by millions in the world...that guy hasn't been with us for a long, long time. The Peter Parker who we've seen since at least the past two and a half years is the same exact person who we saw at the end of Amazing Spider-Man #545: an immature, incompetent excuse for a man who never learned to grow up. 'Cause that's what makes someone a relatable everyman, right?

So hey guys, why so serious?:joker: In reality, we lost nothing here.

Has Clayton Crain ever drawn/painted an old woman who didn't look 150% like an old man?

Since time has sort of been set back, does this mean Aunt May is still the "Paid Actress May"?
