One More Day Discussion Thread

You know, maybe it would have been better if they just said the whole unmasking never happened. Cuz this is now far more complicated than necessary.
Agreed.

Read the info in the JR JR two pager.
Look at the pieces in A:TI #7.
Play.

Everything you need is right there.
Really.

Doesn't the fact that we basically need an instruction manual to understand this mess clue you in that there's something wrong with it?

If Pete remembers he JUST unmasked and no one knows...wouldn't he be swinging around the city, going to the FF and everyone figuring out why everything was altered for some reason...? AND who DID IT.

This doesn't make sense.

So, now that the Scarlet Spider-clones are around, when they unmask, do people say "Who the hell is THIS guy?"

Ahhh I see. I was under the impression that they were Peter clones. My bad.

Comics USED to be like this back in the day, so it basically means that we've become stupid lazy readers.

:csad:

It's One More day!!!!!... until Brand New Day...:o I know, i'm sorry.

And they were worse off for it.

Marvel's been saying that this hasn't retconned anything, but judging from that 2 page spread, it retcons everything. No one knows who Spider-Man is? Uh...some of the best moments in Marvel history deal with people knowing his identity. Did they never happen?

The more info about BND that leaks out, the bigger the cluster**** gets. It's unfathomable.

Yeah one of my favorite Spidey moments is when Dardevil was getting his head kicked in and yelled out "PETER!" to Spider-Man in desperation, causing him to save DD's behind.

Guess that never happened now.

I was thinking of a DD/SM scene, myself. The one from DD #8 where Pete meets Matt atop the G.W. Bridge to talk about Karen's death and sort of motivate Matt into coming out of his depression.

Apparently, that never happened.

It still happened, they just don't remember it (or at least, they don't remember it that way).

Logically, that would mean that people who had concrete knowledge of Peter's identity would start to suspect something when they "pick at the scab" in their memory, so to speak. Things in their brains simply wouldn't add up, which creates a problem that their brains would work to solve because our brains work to solve every problem we see, even if we don't consciously think about it.

Yeah, logically speaking. Which, really, is on the other end of the spectrum here.

I simply cannot read this with a straight face. It's like trying to make sense under the influence of Crack.

"Upon further analysis and tampering, Quesada has discovered that the wheel is indeed, still round. Increased volume from the masses is noted, but has no resonance at this time. Radicals not accepted in the new World Order."

We're not. The ones that Marvel does have are just being forced to tell their stories under the auspices of these crappy changes.

Not all of them, though. Brubaker, Carey, PAD, Fraction and DnA all seem to be telling the stories that they want to tell.

There are ways. Who's doing that Spider-Man project with Tony Harris?
