Glad to see you're the only one with "good taste" in music. :whatever:
Dude, any album made by an emo band is basically impossible to call a masterpiece, emo isn't conducive to the musical maturity and innovation that comes with something that you would call a masterpiece. It's fine if you like it and you think it's a great album, if you had simply said it was a great album I wouldn't have batted an eye, but when people are mentioning albums like "Endtroducing...", "The White Album", "Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea", "Pet Sounds, "Exile in Guyville", "In the Wee Small Hours", and "Songs for the Deaf" you can't seriously think that an album by a band like Brand New is worthy to sit in their company.

One of my favorite albums as well. I don't listen to a lot of heavy music... but Nine Inch Nails is actually one of my favorite groups. I think the level of emotion and power they put into their music is outstanding.

Really great thread.

Whether you are a Hip-Hop/Rap fan or not, every music lover in the world should appreciate this album. One of the most innovative LPs of any genre, ever.

The Doors are just brilliant. Don't need to say anything else!

Hell with buying CDs. Buy legally online and back them up... physical copies of media is going to go away eventually anyway, might as well get used to it.

Sorry but what a pathetic thing to say and a crap way to live!!

There's something fantastic about having the CD, going through the booklet....heck...even buying the special editions (when they are done properly)

With that kind of attitude I've got another idea:

Fek bringing DVD's and Blu-Ray out, download it legally and back it up that way....NEVER NEVER NEVER.

By the way, how many of the world have been told that standard CD-R's and so on....after 20 years...won't work.

Now live a little before you become a zombie to the nation.

"Might as well get used to it" PATHETIC

"War" is better.
Gotta disagree. Achtung is an incredible album. But U2 has made so many that trying to compare them is kinda pointless. I mean, Joshua Tree, and All That You Can't Leave Behind are also basically perfect.

The beginning of this album always reminds me of Mrs. Krabappel.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this album yet:

"Disintegration is the best album ever!" - Kyle Brovlofski

Well, it might not be the best album ever, but it's still incredible

I love that album so much. Year Zero is better though.

Is she still retired from music industry after having her baby and gotten married?

She's been back for a while. At least, I'm fairly sure her work with The Wreckers is post-baby.

Oh, and on the whole cds vs digital argument...If you just want the music, go digital. If you want packaging, get vinyl you f**king philistines.

I think Year Zero is better too. Downward Spiral is amazing, but Year Zero wins solely because it has Zero Sum, which is undoubtedly Trent's magnum opus. It's the best song he's ever written.

Totally. What I admire about Trent is his willingness to put his most gut wrenching feelings right out on the table for the world to see. He's a very brave artist.

here are a couple of mine in no particular order

"War" is better.

I agree. I used to love U2, but after "Achtung Baby" I just found their albums to get progessively worse. My top three U2 albums are: War, Joshua Tree, and The Unforgettable Fire, with Rattle & Hum as honorable mention.
