one thing i never understood about the MU

even though their son is probably the most powerful mutant who will ever live?

As I said - The Fantasitc Four dont represent the next stage of Humanity, neither do Captain America, Iron man, Thor etc. So people dont see them as so much of a threat to their humanity..

Well if you think that mutants are infact potentially dangerous and you can't know what power they have, then that infact is not a irrational behavious, especially when their powers as children can manifest around your children and may cause them harm.

IN the same light as to why you don't leave children to play around with matches.

It's just that it's impossible to tell but what makes it irrational is thinking they are all like this.

I propose marvel make the controlling of a mutant ability a lot harder then it turns out to be so mutants are more dangerous to the average person because of their inability to control their powers. This would make xavier's institute more important as a learning school rather than a x-men homebase.

He should have these institutes all over the country by now (with different x-men teams leading expedition groups and helping with the rehabilitation and controlling of abilities).

This would separate out mutants and superpowered beings into the category of

safe with powers, unsafe with powers which would make more sense for the public hatred

In modern day terms, this would be perhaps the equivalent of White kids bringing up a black kid in a racially backwards community...

Nah, Franklin is a special case, an oddity. It's only convienient for your argument that you bring up this single character that goes against a rule that is mostly followed. Franklin has more lthan likely gained exceptance through the fact of who his parents are etc.

spiderman's may is technically a mutant, i don't know if or how this has been played on during the films...

i'm also unaware of whether normie's powers are genetic or whether he also took some goblin formulae...

Spider-Man's daughter and Normie's future powers aren't a part of 616 continuity anymore. The ****storm in the wake of the Clone Saga saw to that.

What's the expression familiarity breeds contempt? There were too many mutants so easily made. Seemed like everyone had some kind of crazy power. If everyone had powers who would be a mutant? Nobody. And isn't it funny how regular people have mutants, but mutants never have regular people?

Well in the case of people's reaction towards mutants, i don't see what continuity really has to do with it if it's stemed from the same brance so to speak.

it's not as if it was created out of the blue like the ultimate continuity.

But it's pretty fair to say that most metahuman children end up having naturally-developing powers, effectively making them mutants. The exceptions are, well, exceptions. The X-gene is obviously very dominant, what with it representing the next step of evolution and all. The whole "we're all gonna be replaced in a few generations" wasn't just anti-mutant propaganda, it was pretty established in the Marvel science world.

In Ultimate X-Men mutants have in fact uncontrollable powers.
Like that kid who accidentally mass murdered his entire hometown one morning upon reaching puberty and Wolverine had to kill him for it. Which was a very easy way out and actually questions Prof X's morals.
Then there was Magician who could manipulate the entire concept of reality all around him and it took him to realise that himself only after quite some time and a few very convenient events.
