Since this RPG allows third characters, and I think I've been doing well with posting more (especially with Kyle), I thought I'd try my hand at this since I have one Marvel and one DC. If it turns out though that I'm approved, and I can't keep up on posting, I'll drop one of my three characters (I should say two since I'll never drop Kyle

t

. Also, If Byrd decides to come back and wants to play the Boy Wonder again, then I'll gladly hand the shortpants back over to him.
"One Universe" RPG SEASON III SIGN-UP FORM
Screen Name: Blacklight
Character you would like to play: Robin (Dick Grayson)
Powers: None. Has acute acrobatic skills and an array of customized gadgets courtesy of his mentor, Batman.
Brief biography of the character's history: After his parent's death at the Mutant Benefit at the hands of the Hulk, Dick Grayson was scorned and all alone. That was, until millionaire Bruce Wayne decided to take him into his home and become his legal guardian, despite his
extracurricular activities...
Eventually though, Dick learned of Bruce's identity as Batman, and Bruce began to train him as his ward and sidekick, and Dick adopted the name Robin in his parent's memory.
List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: Robin is a cool character, and besides Huntress, he's the only Bat-family member that interests me and I could potentially write well. And OU Robin is no different, and instead of having his parents killed by Two-Face or Sofia Falcone or Tony Zucco, they were killed by the Hulk, wich is definately more interesting considering all the possibilities that could be done with that. And if I'm approved, I'll get to be a Teen Titan, and their leader at that! I'll get to work with Shlee and Carnage who I haven't gotten to work with yet, and GL, who I've worked with briefly and thought it was a cool experience. And whoever else decides to join.
What can you bring to this game?: I think I can bring the Robin we all know and love. The one that's sometimes dark and serious like his mentor, and the one who's cool and a great leader when he's with the Titans.
Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Red Verdana
How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: Many.
Please provide a sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 5 paragraphs long and contain at least 3 line of dialogue):
(OOC: BTW, Not in current continuity)
Focus, Dick. Don't ever show your enemy your fear...
Batman had taught Dick that. He's taught the son of the former Flying Graysons many other things too, but that line was one of the more important ones...
As a little kid, Dick honestly never would've dreamed of fighting crime alongside the Dark Knight Detective, but apparently destiny has things in store for him that are nothing less than
extraordinary to say the least.
It's just a simple robber...with a gun. How hard can it be?
Dick could spot the silhouette of the man with the large sack of cash in the alley shrouded in darkness down below. Every footstep he made having it's own rythm, much like Dick's racing heartbeat.
I mean...Bruce does it all the time...
The man stopped near the end as he started to look for his escape. He noticed the fire escape and tried to quickly scale it, until a dark figure took his attention. He couldn't quite make out any features in the shadows except two white lenses, angrily staring through a domino mask.
Shouldn't be too hard. Right?
The criminal was startled at the vigilante above him, but as he looked down to reach for his gun, when his eyes returned to the roof, the figure was gone. He thought about it. Maybe he was seeing things. Maybe it was his imagination. But the more he thought about what it was, the more he realised he needed to hurry up before Commissioner Gordon and his crew put him behind bars.
But then again...I'm not Bruce.
He continued up each step in the final story of the ladder, until he finally reached the rooftop. He smiled at the thought of being one step closer to being a made man, until his celebration was stopped short by a quick kick to the chest, followed up by a punch to the groin. The man coughed and keeled over before falling on his back.
He opened his aching eyes to look at not the vigilante Gotham criminals feared most, but his sidekick. The Boy Wonder.
Hah. See? That wasn't too hard.
Usually at this point, most criminals would be scared. But the thought of himself, an adult man that was physically fit being beat up by a teenager in red and green spandex, stopped him from feeling fear. Instead, the thought instilled new motivation to get up and kill the one obstacle left in his way to an easy life.
Dick however, saw things ending the exact way he was taught to make situations like this end. He saw himself beating the criminal into submission, leaving him for the GCPD, and him being behind bars for a long, long sentence. Courtesy of fellow Gotham Defender, Harvey Dent. But the question was, who would be walking away from this? The thug? Or the Caped Crusader's young ward?
He pulled out his gun, and aimed for Dick, shooting wildly. He gritted his teeth and hoped that he'd see the Boy Wonder's blood spattered on the concrete. But he didn't. As a matter of fact, he didn't see a thing. 'Where did he go?' he thought. In haste, the brute rose to his feet, looking all over for traces of the young crimefighter.
Where Dick went? The slightly taller building next door. He had used the gunman's reckless rampage as an ample oppurtunity to quickly find refuge, and was safely hiding in the rooftop's shadows. Barely visible to the human eye. It was time to end it, Dick thought. The teen vigilante took out his grappling hook and launched it at the criminal's ankles, watching as it wrapped around and latched on to it's rope. Before the thug could process what was happening, Dick retracted the grapnel line, causing him to be lifted off the other building and dangling from the rope that Dick held as tightly as he could. Everything the robber saw was now upside-down, and all he could see was the alley below, and he screamed for help while the blood all rushed to his head.
"HELP! Please don't drop me! Please! I don't want to die!!"
"Drop the gun."
Without any hesitation, he let go of his gun. They both watched as it fell ten stories down and made a small clanking noise when it hit the puddle ridden pavement.
"Now. I'm going to tell you this once. If you ever get out of jail, you stay the hell out of my city. Or so help me god if I catch you pulling anything like this again...I just might do something I might regret..."
The man whimpered in pain and fear, which is exactly what Dick had wanted. What Batman would've wanted...
"Do you understand?"
"YES! YES!! I won't come back! I swear! Just let me down!!!"
"Nah. I think i'll just leave you here for Gordon. Have a nice time in Blackgate."
And with those final words, Dick took out his extra grapnel gun and shot off into the night. He was right. Dick wasn't Bruce Wayne. He wasn't Batman either. He was someone else; his own identity...
He was Robin.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:
