Brief biography of the character's history: Steve Rogers was a wimpy kid who wanted to help out his country in the time of war. He volunteered for an experimental super-soldier serum, and became Captain America. As Captain America, he has upheld America’s morals, and protected the planet from countless threats.

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1. I like Cap. He’s always been one of my favorites.

2. He stands for what’s right, and the American way.

I found out yesterday that my father has pneumonia. Given the status of his cancer, and the fact that he is missing a quarter of one of his lungs, the infection could very well kill him. I will try to keep my participation up, but I cannot make any promises. I would appreciate some leeway and slack in regards to deadlines, speed of replies, and my own temper, as tensions are high right now.

Character you would like to play: Norrin Radd, the Silver Surfer

Powers: Norrin wields the Power Cosmic, a force of cosmic nature that pretty much allows hims a wide array of abilities from near indistructability, super-human strength comparable to the likes of Superman and the Hulk, can travel at light speeds, manipulate all forms of energy and matter on a large scale, fire cosmic blasts, uses a cosmic surf board to travel the spaceways and it can be controled mentally by Norrin, etc.


Brief biography of the character's history: Norrin Radd was once a normal humanoid being from the planet of Zenn-La until the day Galactus came. To save his planet from being destroyed, Norrin gave himself to the World Devourer and became his Herald, who's sole purpose is to scout a head and find suitable worlds for his master to consume.

Norrin, normally pacifistic in nature, performed his task admirably with no small part to to mental tampering by Galactus. Despite this tampering his service to the Planet Eater ended on the ravaged planet of Oa. Unable to stop the destruction of the planet that was home to the Guardians and their Green Lantern Corps, the Surfer renounced his master.

After rescuing the Green Lantern Hal Jordan and returning him to Earth, Norrin Radd set out towards the stars to formally resign from Galactus' service. After a confrontation with the Devourer, Norrin was freed from his servitude as Herald. Setting out amongst the stars to atone for his part in the death of billions, the Surfer saved a group of refugee slaves and discovered about the plantoid, Warworld. Along with the help of the Kree hero, Captain Mar-Vell, Norrin Radd freed the populace from the despot, Mongul.
But Norron could not rest as the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, arrived and asked for help in facing a dire crisis: The Coming of Galactus.

Hal's homeworld of Earth was threatened by The Devourer and his new herald, Lobo, but the Earth's heroes along with Norrin Radd turned the tide and drove off Galactus. After goodbyes, Norrin returned to space but soon ran into the annoyance known as the Impossible Man. After a brief but violent encounter, Norrin was able to rid himself of the Poppupian. But trouble once again found the wayward Surfer. Trouble in the form of the infernal creatures Mephisto and Neron. The demons both tried there best to get the Surfer's soul, but both failed. In the end, it was Norrin who made out for the best in the encounter as he was finally reunited with his lost love, Shalla Bal.
Norrin and Shalla Bal return to Zenn-La, only to find the planet decimated. Some cosmic force of nature struck the planet, and, after sensing traces of the Power Cosmic, Norrin suspects Galactus. Norrin departs on the cosmic trail left by his former master, but not before imbuing some of his Power Cosmic to Shalla Bal, who will stay behind to rebuild Zenn-La.

Norrin, in his hunt for Galactus, comes across the planet Rann as it is being invaded by the Kree. The Surfer travels to the planet to help stop the Kree invaders and runs into Rann's champion, Adam Strange.
The Surfer speaks to Adam's father-in-law, Sardath, and hears the elder's plan for victory. The Surfer and Adam travel to the Kree's main flagship and challenge the Kree's commander, Ronan.
After a brutal struggle in which the entire ship was destroyed, the Silver Surfer finally emerged the victor. Ronan was then returned to the Kree and the invaders departed.
Norrin Radd and Adam Strange parted ways as friends, and the Silver Surfer once again soared the spaceways, hot on the trail of Zenn-La's butcher...

List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: He's easily one of my favorite heroes in all of comics. His pacifistic nature coupled with his raw power is a fun balance to play. I've still got a story to finish, and leaving it unfinished never really fealt right to me.

What can you bring to this game?: Experience in RPing and excellent character to help flesh out the OU's cosmic side.

Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: gray, bold

The Surfer felt the cosmic power surging from his being as he called upon it and reached out to his surroundings. He closed his eyes as he pushed his senses forward, pushed them to their ultimate limit as he scanned the entire planet in under a minute.

Norrin Radd's eyes opened, and he smiled.

"This is real", he stated, "this is no illusion."

"We are free", Norrin exclaimed in joy, his beloved Shalla Bal joining him.

"Oh, beloved", speaks Shalla Bal as tears of happiness stream down her face as she rushes over and embraces Norrin Radd once more.
"I knew that you would come for me. I knew it."

"No force in the multiverse can keep me from you", replies Norrin as he hold his love tightly.

"But how did you come to be captured by that demon", asked Norrin as he gently pulled away from Shalla Bal.

"It was days weeks ago, or maybe years...time did not seem to move in that hellish place", she began and was forced to look away from Norrin as she recalled the memories of her time spent in Neron's clutches.

"But I was approached on Zenn-La by a man garbed in green finery", she continued as her gaze once again met the Surfers.

"He told me that you were in danger, and that you needed help."

"He offered to take me to you", Salla Bal went on as she recalled her final night on Zenn-La.
"I was worried I might lose you forever, so I accepted...", she spoke with a tinge of regret and embarrassment.

"I feel foolish", she scolded herself, "I am smarter than that. To be duped so easily."

"Neron seems to be a being of great power", Norrin interrupted, "it would not surprise me to find that he used some charm on you to sway your decision."

Shalla Bal smiled, "Thank you, Norrin."

"It was not until he took me back to his domain that I discovered that I was to be bait to capture you", she went on.

"But then you came, and you defeated the devil", she stated with a smile of gratitude, "and you saved me once again."

"No force in the multiverse can keep me from you", he stated once more, and Shalla Bal smiled warmly as she knew he meant every word.

"So what now, beloved?"

"Now", replied Norrin as he held Shalla Bal tightly once more and lifted off of the ground.
The Surfer took to the sky, heading higher and higher into the atmosphere.
Within seconds they find themselves in the darkness of space, and, like a streaking comet, the Silver Surfer departs the lush Eden and disappears into the veil of stars...

"Now we go home."

Jesus titty ****ing Christ! It took me three tries to get that ****ing Surfer post up. First two times, the ****ing Hype ate it, and, me being a dumb****, I didn't save it in word file. So I had to re-write it every ****ing time.
