I originally wasn't going to do this, but BL didn't seem to mind the idea of a little friendly competition. That, combined with the character in question, and maybe a few shots of rum leads to...
"One Universe" RPG SEASON III SIGN-UP FORM
Screen Name: Master Bruce
Character you would like to play: Iron Man
Powers: When not adorned with his powerful armor, Tony Stark retains a genius mind, able to program and build military grade weaponry, vehicles, and tactile protective equipment. After donning the armor, however, Stark exerts superhuman strength, invulnerability, flight, energy absorbtion, and energy-based attack blasts. All of which are ran on life support, which is fed from a neural chip implanted in Tony's brain, allowing him to control the armor without required voice command.
Brief biography of the character's history: Anthony Stark was born a child prodigy, able to build and program hardware well beyond modern technology from an early age. Taken to his father's company of Stark Industries as an executive inventor, Tony's life changed when his parents were killed in a car crash when he was just a teenager. But a curse seemed to become a blessing, as Tony inherited his father's empire and instantly became a multi-billionaire. Relishing in his newfound fame and fortune, it wasn't long before the young, handsome socialite became infamous for both his partying and drinking habits, so much so that Stark Industries' board of directors attempted to hand the reigns of the Stark name over to rival company, LuthorCorp. Finally realizing his fame, fortune, and reputation was at stake, Stark insisted to go on a dangerous mission in Iraq to deliver missiles, in order to show the board he could be a competent figurehead for the company. But, things took a turn for the worse when their group was attacked by terrorists. Captured, just after a devastating mine-based injury to his heart, Tony was to be held prisoner and build a large weapon for his kidnappers. But what he built was something else entirely...
Several years and one life-changing perspective on the world later, and Tony Stark is both a billionaire military liason, and the armored superhero known as The Invincible Iron Man.
List a few reasons why you have chosen that character: Ever since reading
The Ultimates, Tony's become one of my favorite superheroes. So much so, that I took the character up in Ultimate Marvel for a time. Now that the movie's already hit, and my hype for the character's died down, I thought that the urge to play him was past me... but it wasn't. The character is just that tempting to play. So when Cats dropped, I decided, 'why the hell not?'... and here I am. Also, I like booze. I really, really like it.
What can you bring to this game?: The only other game I currently play in is Ultimate DC, so I'm pretty open to time and commitments now. I also like to think I can write action, drama, and general juivinile situations involving supermodels and whipped cream decently enough.
Color and font you plan on using for your character's speech: Red Fixedsys for Iron Man, Red Verdana for Tony.
How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: Once a day, depending on how fast the game moves.
Please provide a sample post with original content in the style that you plan to write your character in (must be at least 5 paragraphs long and contain at least 3 line of dialogue):
"Oh, you're... mmm... you're too kind, Ms. Alba. And please, call me Tony..."
::Has He Lost His Mind? Can He See Or Is He Blind? Can He Walk At All? If He Moves, Will He Fall?::
Tony Stark's eyes fluttered open, as he found himself staring down at the edge of his pillowcase. Contrary to his belief, a few moments ago, he had only been dreaming his rather luxourious encounter. Lifting his head, as the ringtone of his cellphone persisted to play, Stark silently cursed himself, as he slid through the satin sheets covering his body, before finally reaching the sidetable, and grabbing the phone.
::Nobody Wants Him. He Just Stares At The Wor-::
"Yeah?"
"Mr. Stark?", a familiar voice asked from the other line.
"Yeah.", Tony answered, groggily, almost tempted to climb back into bed.
"Sir, this is Harold Hogan, your chaffeur for the day. I'm not sure if you're aware, but your flight to Fawcett City will be ready in forty five minutes."
Tony rubbed his eyes, trying to put this all together in his head. Now, he remembered why everything hurt so much... he was experiencing a hangover. During the previous night, he had injested countless shots of tequila, a glass of bourben, and just a pint of light cola, mixed in for good measure. Apparentally, it hadn't done the trick, as Tony squinted, retracting from the light that had come from behind the shades of his hotel suite, proceeding to hit his face.
"'Happened to Edwin? 'Swear, I'm overpaying that man.", Tony muttered, getting up and tightly closing the blinds, to shield his now tender vision.
"Oh, well... Mr. Jarvis is currently on a flight, making his way to Ireland. You... ordered him to do so, with the instruction that he return with at least a, uh... cargohold of Guiness."
Tony paused.
"And when exactly did I make an order like that?"
"L... Last night, sir."
Stark sighed, heavily, as the realization dawned upon him.
"Last night? You mean when I was... oh, damn it, nevermind.", He stated, annoyed.
"Are you already here?"
"Yes, sir."
"Alright. Well... give me a moment to freshen up."
"Certainly, sir."
Closing the phone, Stark sat back down into bed, and stared at the wall. Then, without warning, he collasped back down on his back, with another sigh. Jarvis was in Ireland. Happy Hogan, who could barely handle his own checkbook, was driving him to a very important flight on the other side of town. And everytime he made a move, it felt as if he was being thrashed and pounded against solid cement, before being thrown into space and brought back down again.
It was just another one of those days.
Do you know how to post pictures on the hype boards?:
