Orange is the new Black

I watched the first three episodes today. Some good stuff, but also some really cliché stuff. Piper still annoys me.

I started watching this a week or two ago and I figured this would be like Oz with women. It's not and I like it better than Oz. Started season two a few days back, can't wait until Larry GTFO.

Boss was out. Watched a lot of this at work.

Not as good as S2 but still pretty good. I think the show worked better with a good villain like Vee. It was weird after the darker S2 to go back to a tone more fitting of S1

Piper is actually the worst. Like just terrible. Even her storyline was stupid.

Finished the season. Overall, I like the lighter tone of the season. It makes the dramatic turns stand out all the more. I do think the finale was not as strong as last season's, though.

I have two episodes left. These last few episodes have certainly taken a turn for the emotional. Its been pretty great so far. This show has an uncanny knack for making ou hate a character one year and turning them into your favorite character the next year. One thing I'm really starting to realize, though, its like pretty much every single man on this show is an utter scumbag. I guess Caputo and Bennet are the only even close to bein decent but still, barely. The women sure aren't portrayed as perfect but its like the guys are all either completely incompetent or just flat out bottom feeders.

Finished the season today. Damn you Netflix and your easy binge watching. Good season.

What I love about this show is that everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame. Every season we get a bunch of new backstories.

I'm only on episode three but Piper and Alex have to go. They are the WORST part about this show.

Yeah, the first few episodes are extremely predictable. It gets better, though.

Just finished it, it was certainly more character driven. Though I didn't like all the cliff hangers since we have to wait a year to see everything play out. But you can definitely tell that the show has grown beyond Piper since she didnt have much to do except her decent into darkness, and she wasnt even in the last scene.

I stopped watching at ep #8 it's more community center than jail
no conflicts really
Red has become boring and Piper and Alex are awful as usual

I have to really be bored out my mind to finish the 3rd season

You can tell since last season that it was less about Piper. Piper's story was so inconsequential.

This season it was worse because the little storyline she did have it was just awful

What a phenomenal season. I wanted the freedom lake scene to last forever. So many characters had really interesting plots and backstories. Props to everyone involved for keeping things fresh.

I'd love to see S1 Piper meet S3 Piper.

Leanne's backstory was just so damn great. I just adore Emma Myles but they really made me not like Leanne even more this year. Sucks too because her backstory was just too damn good. As was Chang's. I really do wish they would specify more about what landed some of the girls in prison, though. It's driving me crazy.

I guess a lot of people don't agree, but to me, they finally made Piper interesting this season. Her last scene with Stella was just fantastic.

Finally finished, and I think it might be the best since season 1. The only thing that ruined it for me was the last few seconds. Just ending it like that. They could have at least shown Alex or something or Piper looking for her, But this season had great character development.

I'm quite concerned about Alex :csad:

I agree! I've always liked Piper, but I'm happy that her character really surprised me this season.

I thought this season was a letdown from the previous two. IMO it was boring and uneventful. Things just happened but it didnt seem like there was anything big that this season was leading up to. It was very lowkey and didnt work for me. It felt too safe.

I actually liked that it was low key. I loved season two but by then end it got too morally black and white. Vee was unambiguously the big bad of the season.

I still thought this season had tense moments and some very shocking things happened. I was never bored.

Finished the season. I really enjoyed it, though I feel two was better. Loved Chang's backstory, and Soso and Poussey's last moments onscreen made me 'Awww' out loud, since I was fearful for both of them.

I like the angle they're taking with the private prison industrial complex, and the way it uses human beings even more than the regular system.

So I had a Netflix binge weekend with this show. I think it's overrhyped as all hell but I do enjoy it.

I don't hate Piper at all like some other viewers apparently do, though I do think she will end up at Maximum soon.
I have a friend that literally looks and sounds like Pennsatucky but with nice teeth.
V, ugh she is so evil, she was great.
Could not give two s***s about Daya and the sexy guard.
I kinda love that Yoga is actually the voice of Patty Mayonaise. That's all I saw her as, an old Patty Mayonaise serving time.
Cancer lady reminded me of my grandma, and loved her last scene. :csad:
Lorna is great even if she's a crazy stalker.

Season 3 kind of felt like a different show with the way it was edited and how some over the top randomness(mostly with couple pairings) happened, but I'm intrigued for season 4.

I keep forgetting how much I like this show until I finish a season of it. They've set up things really well for next season.

Although it's messed up that one guard is still there.

Honestly, I'm happy he's gone because the pregnant character is the worst thing about the show for me.

I didn't like it in season 2, but I was surprised to find that plot more interesting in season 3. I think he's talking about a different guard though...
