Orange is the new Black

I'm on episode 8 of the second season, and I must say, that I like the first season much better so far...so I'm hoping the last five episodes will redeem it for me.

I just finished binge watching S2. I thought it was better than S1 especially the last 4 episodes or so.

I totally loved the ending. Vee is such an amazing, despicable villain especially with the way she manipulated lovable characters like Tasty and Crazy Eyes to do horrible things. I absolutely loved how she got her end! **** yeah Rosa!

Am I the only one who actually likes Piper? I think she's unintentionally funny. And I totally laughed at [blackout]how Brook is like her own "Piper"[/blackout].

I am so torn on Vee, if I want her to come back or not.

I enjoy Piper, it was nice to see her not be the newbie anymore.

I hated Vee for what she did to Taystee and Crazy Eyes and what she got them to do to Poussey. Piper got on my nerves this season and seemed a bit useless with her whole prison newsletter that really didn't go much of anywhere and don't even get me started on Larry. I thought it was a great season though for the most part. The way they developed the other characters who didn't shine much in season 1 was great

That's what I really liked about this season. It seemed that while Piper still got the most screen time, so many other characters were developed. My only big complaint was the lack of Porn Stache for most of the season.

I really missed Alex. Pensatucky and Nichols seemed like they didn't do nearly as much either

Overall, I enjoyed the first season more, but the last episode of season 2 made it for me.

I preferred season 2. Less focus on Piper, who has become less and less interesting, and more focus on the far more captivating inmates. The final scene, and the choice of song, was beautiful.

Lorna's story was the best, what a great twist.

I wonder who's gonna get nominated for an Emmy. Honestly any of the girls who played a major role could do it
Poussey
Red
Tasty
Vee
Crazy Eyes
Lorna

all of their actresses did great work and are very worthy of recognition

I wonder if Mary Steenburgen is gonna play the role of a prisoner next season

She's PornStache's mom, but that would be funny if she was a prisoner

Just finished the second season (was over before we knew it).
Anyone else end up disliking Piper?

Not to give away any spoilers but she seems to be a real [BLACKOUT]selfish B*tch[/BLACKOUT]. At first I thought this season might suffer because she was not the focus so much but It ended up being better because of it.

Oh and Soso... nice rack ;)

Yeah, I'm not sure if the show did it on purpose or not, but I've heard from several other people that they're not keen on Piper anymore. I was basically okay with her until she lied to Red about her bakery, that seemed like such an unnecessarily jerky thing to do.

Finished the season just yesterday. Really liked the finale, it was great with the freedom of Netflix they could actually allow an hour and half finale.

I thought they overdid the flashbacks a bit tbh this season. At this rate i'm not sure who's left to flash back too now?

There's a few characters left. And even if they do run out, they can still do flashbacks to other significant times in those characters lives. Plus if they introduce new characters, they can expand on them, like SoSo.

Eh I thought it was just a white lie and she had good intentions. I don't think it was unnecessary and I understand her reasons. She just didn't want to depress Red even further. It's not like Red can do anything anyway with her being locked up and all.

Exactly. Sometimes the Piper hate goes too far, lol. "You tried to spare her feelings? Stupid b@#%#!!!"

Plus there's always the possibility next season Red finds out the truth, and the Red/Piper beef renews.

It's not like I don't get why Piper didn't tell Red about the bakery. Obviously it was to spare Red's feelings (and no one I've seen has called Piper a "Stupid b@#%#!!!" or anything else along those lines). But it was still a dumb move on Piper's part, both for her sake and Red's.

Red is going to find out eventually -it could be tomorrow for all Piper knows- and how's Red going to feel when that happens? She's got her head in the clouds imagining the bakery is doing all well and good, only to find out the entire thing is a fiction -now she is doubly crushed. On top of that, when Red finds out (not if) how does Piper think she'll react? It won't be thanking Piper for lying to her, that's for sure.

As far as Piper is concerned, it was short sighted and, as I said, a jerk move -because Red will inevitably find out sooner or later.

So you hate her because she tried to spare Red's feelings at a time where Red was at her lowest?

Okay.

Okay.

So you got to that post and decided to skip the five that followed it?

Okay.

(Also, and this goes for the chaps who actually bothered to engage in the entire discussion too, since when did I "hate" the character? I say one mildly negative thing and all of a sudden it's "Hate! He hates her! People hate everything! Boo-urns!". I mean geez guys, it's not like Piper is Joffrey)

See that exaggeration thing you just did there for (I'm assuming) comical effect? Other people do that too.

Any ideas what's gonna happen with Morello down the line? She seems like she may have the most issues of anyone in the prison depsite the way she portrays herself to the other inmates.

It's hard to look at her the same way anymore after seeing the real christopher situation.

Maybe you were exaggerating, but this:

Okay.

...is a plain-as-day statement.

For the record, I never said -and do not- hate the character.
