I still remember before SM 1 came out someone put up a "No Organics" website with a petition you could sign.
I guess it didn't work.

How about a compromise? Peter still splooges webs. But it comes out all messy. The web shooters are a mechanism to um....direct the goo in the right direction? It can also collect the leaking webs for specialized attacks like web balls and stuff.
Mechanical, without a doubt.
Though, I wouldn't be opposed to a mixture of Organic and Mechanical Web-Shooters.![]()

Wasn't that James Cameron's idea?
Web shooters is the correct answer.
I want Stark to be impressed by Pete's brains, even if the prick won't admit it.
I'm honestly fine with either one but I always thought it was a bit of a strawman argument that giving him organics drops his IQ or whatever. I mean, yeah, it's cool that Peter is smart enough that he figures out some way to build webshooters, but even if he doesn't do that, it doesn't automatically mean that he's some idiot or that he's not a science geek. Also, I never understood how being bit by a radioactive spider gave him all the powers of a spider EXCEPT being able to shoot webs.
Yes. Raimi then took it, played around with it and then nixed the "focusing" mechanical part of it.Wasn't that James Cameron's idea?
Like this?
I always liked those rare moments in the comics where Reed or Tony or one of the other super smart guys would realize how bright Peter is and reflect for a moment on what a promising scientific career he might have had if he weren't so dedicated to crimefighting.
I hope the web shooters start out as large and clunky.
I hated how TASM had super compact watch sized web shooters from the start
