Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse - Part 1

This is the representation of Apocalypse I was hoping for. He's a beast, and his dialect is on point and one of a kind. His superiority rings through with every word, with every move he makes. This is my favorite episode of X-men. This would of been a great Apocalypse on screen with state of the art CGI.

So you want a heavily purple and blue Apocalypse with a yellow gray face. Thankfully, Singer knows better than to bring that ugliness to life.

Then you don't know my point.

How can I not when it is the only thing you are posting? The thing I am trying to point out, that trying to put Ian McDiarmond into the same get up as Oscar Isaac isn't exactly proving your point. All you are doing is showing is a different actor in the same getup, which does not prove your point. Perhaps color Palpatine blue, then your point will be more obvious. If still very, very wrong.

As for the voice, I am confident in Isaac in giving us an amazing performance. The "come and see" has already sold me.

Jeez man, let it go.

The more I think about it, the more I'm glad they didn't attempt to directly adapt that look.

As I think it was Whedon who once said about how it was the marvel cinematic universe and not the comics.

He did indeed...

Joss Whedon said:
"This is Marvel Cinema, Not Marvel Comics"

"We’re basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the way side"

Not every comic book movie has to be like the Marvel Studios movie. It becomes dull if we get the same tone of movie back to back, it's one thing if it takes elements from different comics to tell a comic book movie but to demand it to be exactly like an MS movie, no thanks.

 Variety is key.

Which one looks better?

The one on the right.

Which one looks more like apocalypse?

The one on the right.

Which one puts you in fear?

The one who isn't smirking.

I don't know, Flint. It feels like many of the things fans have talked about freely since the first film like deviations from the comics or fans wish lists of what they want to see (characters, costumes etc) as long as they're not outright praise are not welcome anymore. It's always dragged down into a studio war.

Agreed. Some just can't bear to let people prefer the franchise to others, they have to come in to point out how 'their franchise' is better or more faithful and dismiss any members for daring to even consider X-Men equal to their franchise, which is just as worse as considering it better.

It's like they must have everyone agree that what they prefer is the undisputed best and no others can touch it. And when someone comes along and places another franchise in the same league they leap to correct that persons opinion.

My opinion, your opinion, there all opinions. I prefer the original comic look the best, you like what singer has produced better. You think the original comic book is ugly, I think the current Apoc is ugly. You like "come and see" I like "There exists no freedom from me, only freedom through me". To each his own.

"You are but body, mind and spirit, I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken".

Does Palpatine look good to you?

It was like an elevated version of a TAS monologue. Something that fits the movies.

Yeah except the X-Men:TAS Apocalypse is not the original comic look.

while some of Apocalypse dialogue on the cartoon are jilted and come off as more hard to hear than natural dialogue if you're trying to combine it with elements of the X-Men movie which admittedly do have it but it's more controlled per say in my opinion and more or less natural sound'ing, it seems you just saw 2 pictures of Apocalypse and automatically assume the worse of him and thinks he would be nothing like the comic and cartoon. Like Ultron, Loki, Magneto, Bolivar Trask, Doc Ock, etc. Like Joss Whedon said "We’re basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the way" http://moviepilot.com/posts/2013/07...e-of-ultron-1076213?lt_source=external,manual

When there are multiple quotes of Oscar Isaac using X-Factor as citation (Apocalypse original appearance) as source material of what he used to the understanding of his character, using/paraphrasing the famous Apocalypse 90s quote "I Am as far beyond mutants as they are beyond you/humans"(http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/15/oscar-isaac-promises-insane-final-battle-x-men-apocalypse), multiple sources with Bryan Singer using comics and the animated series as source for the movie but adapting it in to fit into the X-Men movies and the comic con trailer using quote that sound extremely similar to this

Not to mention according to a poster on the fansite that mustn't be named in the Entertainment Weekly issue :
ew-cover-1373-xmen.jpg

apparently it said in this issue that Singer even watched the old episodes of X-Men from the 90's to help more with developing Apocalypse's motives and characteristics(While I am grateful for what we are given, since I can't get the magazine myself, sometimes I do wish I was able to see the full magazine article instead of just key points because you never know what someone might miss or gloss over).

well they used Logan's monologue in dofp so I think they'll use apocalypses

ironman29758 all of that magazine content is online at their website.

What if they make Apocalypse grey and his lips blue in post production?

Let's be realistic here, people who complained about EW's Apocalypse will complain about greyed and blue-lipped Apocalyspe and people who defended this Apocalypse will continue to defend that new one.

I'm not concerned with the color of his features. I just want those features. You can pick the colors that make you all warm and fuzzy inside.

It would be an amazing step in the right direction. He would once again be recognize able to fans of the comic.
You know it's posts like this that annoy people, right? I'm a comic fan and I recognize this design as Apocalypse.

I mean, how realistic is this really? They designed his look, they're shooting the movie. If they wanted grey skin or whatever, he'd have it.
